Correspondence of the Richmond Dispatch.
departure of a Company.

Lexington, Va., June 8, 1861.
The Washington College Company, Professor White, Captain, left here this morning for active service, numbering between sixty and seventy members. A beautiful flag made by the ladies, was presented by the Rev. John Miller, in an eloquent address, which was responded to by Capt. White; and after an address and a fervent prayer by the Rev. Dr. White, (father of the Captain,) the company departed, resolved to do or die in defence of their native soil. This is the seventh company gone from Rockbridge. S. D.
