Artillery companies.
--At the present time there is no branch of military service more needed than the artillery. Our rivers are accessible to the cruisers of the enemy. Richmond and the river counties will be constantly exposed to the harassing expeditious of the plunderers and pirates. We therefore recommend to our young men to engage at once in the artillery service. We do not know how soon it will be needed for our defence. Call at the rendezvous of the new artillery company, corner of Main and 9th streets, and enlist at once. The advertisement will be seen in our columns.
