Commander Joseph Myers. U. S. N.
--In noticing the resignation of Capt. Myers, of this city, of the late "United" States Navy tendered to Lincoln on the 22d of April, an error was committed in saying that Capt. M. had been connected with the Navy "for nearly thirty-five years." He was, we learn, connected with the naval service for nearly forty-seven years, and during that long period rendered good service to his country, as the records show. Lincoln must be small potatoes indeed, when grey-haired veterans of the Army and Navy quit in disgust at his impudent assumptions and unwarrantable assaults on the constitutional liberties of the people whom he disgraces in pretending to represent as head of the nation.
