What Thaddeus Stevens says.

We presume all of our readers know that Thaddeus Stevens is a leading abolitionist of Pennsylvania. We learn, on reliable authority, that when he heard the election news from Virginia, a day or two since, he said, with a sneer, "Well, well, well, Old Virginia has tucked her tail between her legs and run, and thus ends the secession farce." We do not know whether this utterance, or sympathy with it, prompted Gov.Curtin, the Black Republican Governor of Pennsylvania, to fire thirty-four guns in honor of the event.
