McKinney, Mordecai -1867
Lawyer; born. near Carlisle, Pa., about 1796; graduated at Dickinson College in 1814; admitted to the bar in 1817; began practice in Harrisburg; and was made deputy attorneygeneral of Miami county in 1821. Later he devoted his time to compiling works on law. His publications include The Pennsylvania justice of the peace; The United States constitutional manual; Our government; The American magistrate and Civil officer: a manual for popular use; Pennsylvania tax laws; and Digest of the laws of Pennsylvania relative to Banks and bankers. He died in Harrisburg, Pa., Dec. 17, 1867.
