Gentry, Meredith Poindexter 1809-1866

Legislator; born in North Carolina, Sept. 15, 1809; removed with his father to Tennessee in 1813; elected to the State legislature in 1835; to Congress in 1839. When his State seceded he entered the Confederate Congress. He died at Nashville, Tenn., Nov. 2, 1866.
