PYLE´NE

PYLE´NE (Πυλήνη: Eth. Πυλήνιος), an ancient town of Aetolia, between the Achelous and the Evenus, mentioned in the Homeric catalogue of the Grecian ships, is placed by Pliny on the Corinthian gulf.
