AQUAE AURE´
AQUAE AURE´ LIAEorCOLO´NIA AURE´LIA AQUENSIS (Baden-Baden), a watering place in a lovely valley of the Black Forest, is not mentioned by ancient writers, but is stated in a doubtful inscription of A.D. 676, to have been built by Hadrian, but it did not acquire celebrity till the time of Alexander Severus.[L.S]
