Elpēnor

Ἐλπήνωρ). One of the companions of Odysseus, who were metamorphosed by Circé into swine and afterwards back into men. Intoxicated with wine, Elpenor one day, while asleep on Circé's roof, fell and broke his neck ( Od. x. 552).
