ROMULEUS MONS
a name found once in the third century (Hist. Aug. Salonini Gall. I): statua in pede montis Romulei, hoc est ante sacram viam inter templum Faustinae ac Vestam ad arcum Fabianum. It was probably a late colloquial designation of the Palatine, but if so, its use in this passage adds nothing to its precision, but rather detracts from it.
