--Lieutenant Edward C. Jones, of the Ben. McCulloch Rangers, arrested a few days since on the charge of purloining $7,500 in C. S. Treasury notes from Peter Deane, a Quartermaster in the army, was arraigned yesterday for the second time before the Mayor for an examination.
Deane, the party on whose oath the defendant had been taken in custody, not being present to make good his complaint, the accusation fell through, and Lieutenant Jones was triumphantly acquitted.
