rthur Ferguson, a free negro, charged with being drunk and disorderly in the street and assaulting William R. Chalkley, and stoning his house, was ordered to be whipped. Zeph. Ford, a youth of genteel appearance, whose case, on the charge of stealing fourteen pounds of powder from some person unknown, has been on the docket for some days, was taken up yesterday and disposed of. Not a particle of evidence was adduced against the accused, and he was thereupon discharged. The case of Maria, slave of Lee Binford, charged with stealing a lot of molasses, fish, flour, preserves, lard and salt, valued at two thousand dollars, stolen from Thomas G. Turner, was continued. The goods were delivered to Mr. Turner, his claim to the same being fully established.
