Small cases. --George Nelson and Calvin Henry, charged with stealing four dozen sora from a market cart, were examined before the Mayor yesterday, and remanded for trial at the next term of the Hustings Court. Byrd, an interminable colored man, for running off from one of the batteries after being put to work thereon, and Robert Hoggins, for getting drunk and abusing people in the streets.

Stealing Money. --Michael Leary, a member of the 19th Mississippi regiment, on Sunday took $112 out of the pocket of a comrade, named Poole, of the same regiment. Not showing any disposition to return the funds, Poole complained, and yesterday the offender was locked up in the military guard-house, on Franklin street.

The case was continued until Monday, and Pendergrast, who held a pistol to McCarty's head and threatened to kill him if he made an alarm, was remanded to jail. Benj. Gottlieb, charged with stealing two hogs, of the value of $50, was committed to prison until Monday. George Ellering, for allowing an offensive nuisance to remain on his lot, was fined $10. The case of John Murray, for stabbing Michael Leary and Jas. McCormick, was continued for ten days. The case of John Drew, charged with stealing $63, was also continued for ten days.
