Governor Hicks, of Maryland, has just had an interview with the President, and it is said that he conveyed assurances of support from that State. Gen. Lane, the new Sen Government on the State of Maryland for four regiments of military, received some show of plausibility from an announcement in the National Intelligencer that Gov Hicks had responded affirmatively to the requisition. The Washington States, in reference to the favorable response of this infamous traitor to the call for troops against the South, says that he is recognized in Washington as a Black Republican, his name being published as one of the Vice-Presidents of a Republican meeting hold in Washington, on Tuesday night.
