--New Orleans refugee have stated, and it is firmly believed that Farragut, finding the Hartford in a slaking condition and too weak to return past Port Hudson, stopped the ship and destroyed her near the mouth of Red river.
Farragut, with his officers and crew, are now in New Orleans.
