The Paris correspondent of the London Times says that the day after the battle of Castlepidardo, General Cialdini received the Count Bourbon De Chains and some other French officers who had capitulated. In the course of conversation one of the French officers said, "Well, General, you have beaten us but we shall soon have our turn, for General Goyon and our countrymen under his orders are not far off." To which the General replied, "you must think me very simple to have come here without the Emperor's permission. It was I who settled the campaign with him at Chamber, and his last recommendation was that if the matter was to be done let it be done quickly." In a letter which Victor Emanuel wrote a short time since to the King of Naples at Gaeta, he said, speaking of Garibaldi, "try to beat him; try to catch him, and, above all, hang him!" The Surge of Gaeta. --We take the following from a letter in the Constitutional, dated on board the frigate Garibaldi, Mola di Gaeta, 28th January: I take advantage of a few moments on shore at Mola to send you some details respecting the siege. On the 21st, about 10 o'clock, and experiment was made with the electric light from General Cialdini's residence to throw a light upon Gaeta, so as to enable the artillerymen to point the guns with precision. On the 22d, at 8 A. M., white 4,000 men were working at the parallels, the fortress opened a terrible fire with 200 guns at once. Our camp immediately replied to it, and the squadron at the same time received orders to manoeuvre. At 9 A. M. the Admiral gave the signal for departure, and ordered the commander of the Garibaldi to lead the attack. At 10 A. M., the Garibaldi was in full way on the fortress. Spoils of Gaeta. --The spoils made at Gaeta by the Sardinians were valuable, being cannon and muskets — nearly 800 of the former and 60,000 of the latter. Gen. Cialdini is to be made Duke of Gaeta, which will preserve the memory of his splendid success in his family.
The latest via Queenstown. It is stated that the Pope is more than ever resolved not to quit Rome. It is reported that the Southern soldiers of the garrison of Monderi have protested against Cialdini's letter to Garibaldi, and that arrests had been made in consequence. Turin, Thursday.--There has been a perfect reconciliation between Garibaldi, Count Cavour and Gen. Cialdini.

The following is additional intelligence by the Canada, from Liverpool on the 3d inst: It was believed in Paris that the object of France in preventing the blockade of Gaeta by sea is merely to facilitate the escape of the King of Naples, and prevent complications which would result from his capture. The French journals offer no explanation of the affair. The Paris Bourse closed firm and animated. Rentes 69f. 35 Italy. The Neapolitans reported the defeat of Gen. Cialdini, without loss, at the river Gariglinano. The official dispatches, however, from Turin, proclaim the report false. The Sardinians were not defeated at all. Capua was attacked on the 1st, and capitulated the following day. The royal troops were to leave with the honors of war, and after laying down their arms they were to go, on the 3d, to Naples.
