tion. --Whereas, the place of holding the county court of the county of Hanover has been changed from the court-house of said county to the town of Ashland, in consequence of the presence of the public enemy, and it is expedient that the circuit court for said county shall be held at the place appointed for holding the county court: Therefore, By virtue of authority vested in the Executive by law, I, William Smith, Governor of the Commonwealth of Virginia, do hereby authorize the judge of the circuit court for said county to hold the next session of his said court at the said town of Ashland, and to continue to hold the said court thereat so long as the county court shall be held at that place. Given under my hand as Governor, and under the lesser seal of the Commonwealth, at Richmond, this fourteenth day of September, 1864, and in the eighty-ninth year of the Commonwealth. William Smith.
