Kitty's Colorful Home

I took these shots on my Flip Video so they're not as sharp as I'd prefer, but as you can see, the color is delightful, and the kitty looks more than happy to show off his colorful digs. All cats, or dogs, should be so lucky to live in a home like this. But the bigger picture is all animals should not have to live in shelters or cages or live digging through trash cans to eat.

I know most of you who follow me regularly are animal lovers just like I am. I also know a few of you are saying, "Dang... I'd like to live in that house. Move over kitty face..."

I just wanted to remind people to adopt, and spay or neuter, your pets. A cat doesn't care if its house looks as charming as this kitties home does--they just want to be loved, and sheltered from harm. Their job is to love on us unconditionally. They are our earthly role models on how we should love each other.

Opie Wan Kenobi happily supports this post.

  1. Hi Lille! I like your chair, it's so comfy country looking! That pink and yellow house is really pretty. The community here has no imagination, all the roofs are orange and the siding is either blue, white or brown. BORING. Nice message about the animals...breaks my heart to even think about it, so I lack the words to comment, I know you understand that!

  2. amen... and what a cool house! Luckily Ireland has it's fair share of colouredy houses, think it's something to do with the lack of sunshine, we compensate with over the top colour schemes!

  3. I agree! We rescued our 2nd dog, Samson, last year. He is my soul mate...seriously!! He is a big lug and he just loves us. If he could (he is 85 lbs) he would snuggle right in our laps. He is a beautiful spirit and I am so glad we have him in our life. I do believe that rescued pets are grateful for their new homes! And we lucked out for sure ;)

  8. lil-D-tell me about it! all my money goes, it seems, to animal rescues and neutering. I can't stand to see anything starve.
    the cat looks unimpressed, I must say. Or just aloof? ~rick

  9. It is so sad how many pet owners I know want their cat/dog to have kittens/puppies just because they love their pet! I love mine too and they're all fixed. There are too many unwanted animals out there to add to the problem. Thank you for reminding people.

  10. What a wonderful post. I too wish people would be more compassionate towards our animal friends. There is much to be gained from their unconditional love. Even donating or helping out a few hours at a shelter is beneficial when it is not possible to be a pet owner. Thanks for the reminder.

  16. Sigh...it is not my house. It's one I took pics of. I live in a tree house. :-) Opie has a parachute handy in case he decides to take flying lessons off the deck....

    ~~Rick... yes, I agree the cat looks under impressed. That's what made me want to capture it on film. But truthfully, I think he is just an old guy, and has seen one too many cat fights in his day.

    I loved the contrast of the house so brightly painted and a black and white kitty sitting nonchalantly in front of it.

    He is indeed a lucky boy.

    Thanks for all the positive feedback on our four-legged friends, and two-legged feathered ones or ones with fins, and what-nots.

    PS Opie sez, "Hewwo, Sasha.... and Hewwo to Prince and Poppy. (RIP, sweet Poppy Puppy Pie)

    ~~~Linda...thanks for stopping by the tree house. Love Poppy's blog.
  17. That house is beautiful but not nearly so beautiful as your message about animal rights. I fully support your cause! So does our cat...Garfield (who is so completely spoiled he thinks he's a dog).
