Door Mat Wall Art {Pottery Barn Knockoff}
A few weeks ago I shared this tutorial as a guest blogger over on Free Cheap or Fun blog. Today I'm re-sharing this Pottery Barn knockoff here for all of my readers to enjoy.
I love PB's classic and timeline style and decor, but the prices are a huge turn off for me. I can't justify spending $399 on a lattice wood panel to hang on my wall when I could be buying two week's worth of groceries for my family for that price. I do love Pottery Barn's new Lattice Panel Wall Art though and so I figured out a way to knockoff it off for less than $20.

Pottery Barn Knockoff Chalkboard Frames
I was perusing the Pottery Barn Kids catalog last week when I spotted their adorable chalkboard frames. Oh they're just so cute..and so expensive at $39 for just one! I knew I could knock them off very easily and they'd be perfect in the playroom to display the kids artwork.

DIY Pottery Barn 'Heart' Pillow Knockoff
Do I love Pottery Barn? Yes. Do I love an awesome Pottery Barn knockoff? H*ll yeah! And so I present to you...my PB-inspired burlap heart pillow. The original version is not burlap and it's not square...but guess what...that's what makes it awesome to DIY, you can make it EXACTLY how you want it.
So if you have a 16x16 pillow form at home, you can make a 16x16 envelope-style pillow cover and then you don't have to buy a lumbar pillow form because Pottery Barn's heart cover only comes in the 12x24 lumbar size.

Pottery Barn Table Setting Knockoff from the Dollar Store
Isn't it lovely? I love Pottery Barn's table settings. They're often simple yet stunning and timeless. What I can't swallow is paying $12.50 for a charger. Not a plate...a plate that holds a plate. Note "a". That means if you want to set the table for six you'd be spending $75 on plates you don't even eat off. Let's not talk about if you're setting the table for 12 or more...
That, my friends, is why I love the dollar store. Right before Christmas I went in looking for some gold chargers for my Christmas table. I found them for one dollar a piece. Guess what...they even have the beaded edge, just like Pottery Barn's. I picked up six...you know, for $6.

8 DIY Drop Cloth Projects
I just got paid the biggest compliment. A Two It Yourself reader left a comment on my Pottery Barn-inspired DIY Monogrammed Wine Bags saying she thought my version was actually the Pottery Barn bag. Wow! Amazing...and to think I made my wine bags with a....drop cloth.

DIY American Girl Balance Beam (Gymnastics Set Knockoff)
A few days ago I shared my version of a DIY American Girl Gymnastics Bars. Now, I'm back with the balance beam to complete the gymnastics set - and it's even easier! All you need are two square dowels (I found them at the craft store) and wood glue. Spray paint is optional - I had it on hand and I figured I'd match the bar and beam, so I used it on the supports.

DIY Monogrammed Wine Bottle Bag (Pottery Barn-Inspired)
I think I like wine accessories more than I actually like wine. Take for example, Pottery Barn's textured linen wine bags = LOVE! I loved them so much I knocked them off....cause, you know, I love Pottery Barn...oh and they're no longer available so I basically had no choice, but to DIY.
The PB version (on the right above) has a linen look so I used my go-to linen impersonator: drop cloth.

20 DIY Burlap Ideas: For the love of all things burlap!
I may be slightly obsessed with burlap for the moment month season year....but I promise you there is a good reason why. Burlap, while it can be a real mess to work with, is one of the most versatile mediums (did I really just write 'mediums'?? Just trying to up my game from my usual 'things') I use to create. I have made everything from toilet paper napkin rings to wreaths and pillows with burlap.
Since I love it so much I thought I would share my love of all things burlap today with a great big roundup of some really cool DIY burlap crafts and projects we've featured right here on 2IY...so here goes. You can click each photo to be taken directly to the tutorial.

DIY Burlap Christmas Pillows
So me and burlap are like BFFs right about now. We've been spending some major time together...most recently I created these cute burlap Christmas pillows. They were super easy and fast to make and they're great for both indoors or outdoors.
Of course, I turned to my trusty Powerpoint to create the design. There are tons of free Christmas fonts out there on the good ol' WWW... so find your favorite, download it and install it into your font book...then get to work.
I started with the 'Jingle' pillow inspired by Pottery Barn's jingle bell pillow. When you're creating your design, leave a little space around the outside so you can sew it onto the pillow without stitching on the design.
When my design was ready to go, I printed it right on a piece of burlap. If you're a loyal 2IY reader (you aren't? You totally should be!!!) you know the drill by now about how to print on burlap. If not, it's cool I forgive you just go >> here << and learn how to print on burlap using your home printer.

DIY {West Elm} Burlap Christmas Tree Knockoff
Who doesn't love a good knockoff? There's not much I like knocking off more than stuff I am drooling over in the Pottery Barn or West Elm catalogs. As soon as I saw West Elm's adorable burlap trees I knew I could make them for far less than $25.
This project was simple and it didn't cost me a dime because I had everything on hand. Even if you don't have burlap in your stash at home, you can still get by making this project for less than $5 by purchasing just a scrap of burlap. So let's get started...
