Project 365 : Day 129

Nikon D40. 35mm cropped. F11. 1/200.
Saw a pack of Herons hanging around some fresh fruit bunches and couldn't resist to photograph them. They sensed my presence and immediately after the first one flew, the rest followed.
Photo cropped from original below. Applied some color filter and add in vignetting to the photo for some wannabe effect.

Project 365 : Day 128 of 365

Like a Midnight Sun. D90. F5.6.2Seconds. ISO100. 105mm. Pop Up Flash.
The moon was huge these couple of nights. Some of you might had missed the full moon that had the eclipse happening on Saturday. I certainly did.
Large moon offers an opportunity to be photographed in greater details especially if you are limited by the tools (or lense). My maximum is a 300mm, which gives a 450mm focal length equivalent on the D90 1.5x crop sensor. Here is a bonus pic of the moon, as is is seen, cropped 100%.

Project 365 : Day 127 of 365

Nikon D90. 200mm. F8. 1/80. ISO200. SB600 on TTL setting.
Nature at it's best. I was ill equiped and this is the closest i could get. It was challenging as this Praying Mantis was feasting on the white ants (males, with wings) near the florocent light about 10feet from ground. I stood on a stool to get as close as possible. Image is not cropped and i thought the F8 will give me a deeper DOF. Guess i was wrong.

Project 365 : Day 125 of 365

Nikon D90.55mm. F22. 2-second. ND8 filter. ISO100.
My first attempt with ND8 filter over moving water. Also mark my last day in Hibiscus Petroleum. As things in life, all is fluid like the water. There will be instances where there are hindrance (stones) and we just have to be able to adapt and adopt to everything in life.

Project 365 : Day 124 of 365

Nikon D40.35mm.F2.8. 1/1000. ISO500.
I am hoping my Project365 will soar like these balloons again. Been neglecting the project too long. My vision is to convert all 365 photos (by right, if i did not lose any steam, it would had been completed by June 2011) into a photo book to be placed at the coffee table.
Lets see if i can revive this back again. Soon.
Meanwhile, enjoy the balloon.

Project 365 : Day 123 of 365

Saw this when i was running along the coastal road in Lahad Datu, Sabah. Had my Panasonic DMC-FT2 and could not resist the nice contrast/blend of the water, boat and the orangy sky. Hope you like it as much as i composed it.

Project 365 : Day 122 of 365

Long overdue. Been looking for inspiration and perhaps i found one. Was in Manila (my first trip into the country) and was fortunate to have the opportunity to take this from the hotel window.
I am not sure how long Project365 of mine will last. But i will still post things up from time to time. This 365 might turn into a lifetime commitment towards good image - no more settling for mediocore stuffs. Enjoy.

Found this along the side of the cliff at Awana, Genting. It stuck out like sore-thumb, really. A nice one in fact.

Project 365 : Day 115 of 365

Faith
No matter what you believes in, religion teaches only good things. I classify myself to be a free-thinker that takes in all good from every religion. Suffice to say that i feel and think religion are man-made (yes, this will cause a lot of comments from all of you). I believe there is a God and i pray to the God in my own way via many other mediums. Please do not mistake me for an atheist, as even an atheist would still say "oh my God". ;-)

Project 365 : Day 114 of 365

Rustic
Got this shot at the break of dawn (not sunset) along Gurney Drive. The few sampans that belongs to local fishermen shows that despite all the industrial and also development there is on this Island, there are still those that stick to more traditional vocation. Without them, we won't get our seafood. But the Straits of Melaka is getting very polluted. Up towards the other end of Gurney is a river that feeds into the sea. It is nothing short of brackish and pray to tell that the hotels and establishments are not discharging their waste directly into the sea.

Project 365 : Day 112 of 365

Macro, Not.
I took my 50mm lense out to play again today. It has been some time since i use it for the simple reason i was smitten by the 35mm and had my hand itchy for the 20mm. While i am using a crop sensor camera or DX, the 50mm is essentially equivalent to 75mm on a fullframe or 35mm camera. Nevermind the jargons. I did not bring my other flash and ended up using very closely to overexposing the photo. Good lesson learnt. I love the blue hue of this dragonly by the way. Way cool.
Tools: F90+501.8. ISO100. F2.8. 1/200.

Project 365 : Day 111 of 365

Nature
I love this photo. I've used it at least three times for my work presentation and i have submitted this for the office photo competition. Everytime my colleagues from other countries asked me where it is, i ended up saying, that is my wife hiking with me at a secret location. Lets hope this place remain as pristine as this forever. Wishful thinking?
