Founded in 1976 by Steve Jobs, Steve Wozniak, and Ronald Wayne, Apple is best known for making some of the world's most ubiquitous consumer devices, software, and services: the iPhone, iPad, iMac and MacBook computers, Apple TV, Apple Watch, iOS, iCloud, iTunes, Apple Music, Apple Pay, and many more. Led by CEO Tim Cook since 2011, Apple is one of the largest technology companies in the world alongside Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Facebook.

Apple iPad Pro (2024) review: the best kind of overkill

Apple’s latest high-end tablet is a marvel of hardware design still in need of the software and accessories to really make it sing. But wow is it fun to use.

Switching up the Ultra’s Action Button just got easier.

In watchOS 11, all you gotta do is hold down the button and swipe through the options. Before you had to go into the Settings menu, which is no fun. Hopefully this helps folks get more use out of the button. Will definitely be giving this a whirl!

Name that tune.

I was reminded this morning that Apple added a new “Music Haptics” accessibility feature to iOS 18, which I hadn’t actually tried out yet, that subtly vibrates along to songs for those affected by hearing loss to feel.

Putting it on a box is fun!

Apple Vision Pro review: magic, until it’s not

The Apple Vision Pro is the best headset anyone’s ever made — and that’s the problem.

Apple Sports 2.0 has arrived.

Last month, Apple announced an update for the Sports app that adds Live Activities support to help you follow games on the lock screen of your iPhone or Apple Watch.

Now, it has been released in the App Store just ahead of the launch of iOS 18 and watchOS 11, and it includes a new drop-down menu and search setup to switch between leagues and teams.

A reminder about marketing.

Before you buy something like Anker’s new MagGo SD card reader to take advantage of that high-fps video capture on the iPhone 16 Pro, go read PetaPixel’s warning about product marketing and the limits of SD cards.

PetaPixel today confirmed that the iPhone can technically shoot 4K at 30 frames per second (FPS) in ProRes Log to a UHS-II SD card, but attempting to choose a higher frame rate would guarantee dropped frames.

iOS 18 beta users can add cards to Apple Wallet with a tap.

“Tap to Provision,” a coming-soon iOS 18 feature that uses NFC to speed up adding cards to your Apple Wallet, has returned after briefly being disabled, writes X user Aaron Perris.

It seems to work for me, so if, like 9to5Mac’s Abner Li, you had trouble with the feature in the iOS 18 beta, perhaps it’s worth another shot now.

The iPhone 16 won’t come with stickers.

Like with Apple’s newest iPads, Apple won’t include Apple logo stickers in the boxes of the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro, 9to5Mac reports. You can apparently ask for a sticker when purchasing an iPhone 16 at an Apple Store, though.

Apple has filed to dismiss its lawsuit against NSO Group.

“Because of the developments since this suit was filed, proceeding forward at this time would now present too significant a risk to Apple’s threat-intelligence program,” Apple says in a filing. Apple sued NSO Group in 2021.

One cited development: The Guardian’s reporting that Israeli officials took documents about NSO Group’s Pegasus software that are relevant to a WhatsApp lawsuit.

“GAZEploit.”

With the “GAZEploit” attack, researchers found they could predict what somebody was typing on the Vision Pro’s virtual keyboard by analyzing the eye movements of their Persona, according to Wired.

Apple fixed the issue with visionOS 1.3 by suspending a Persona when the person is using the virtual keyboard.
