Kmart Brings the Deals

This is a big week for game releases with Portal 2, Mortal Kombat, and SOCOM 4 all launching. If you're not really into stretching your wallet to the limit over the next few weeks (there's a lot of triple A to be had), you might want to take retailer Kmart up on the latest of their amazing video game deals.

If you purchase (this week only) $40 in gaming software, you'll receive a coupon good for $15. If you go a lil' higher and spend $120 or more in games- you get the $15 and an additional $45. That's a cool sixty bones to put towards another game (or two) some time in the next 30 days.

But wait- there's more! If one of those games happens to be either Mortal Kombat or Portal 2, you also get $10 off of a 1600 point Microsoft card or PSN card at time of purchase. If you buy both games, you get ten bucks off a pair of cards.

Good stuff all around. Oh, one last thing, you need to be a Shop Your Way Rewards card holder to participate- it's Kmart's store rewards point card. Yes, it's free.

Read more about this specific deal here, and keep up with Kmart's deals in general here. Good stuff.

Just to let everybody know- The original Deus Ex (and the GOTY edition, no less) is just .99 today only as part of Games for Windows Live's Daily Deals.

Less than a buck for one of the best action/shooter/RPG mashups ever is a pretty damn good price- and it makes for a nice primer for next year's 'Human Revolution' too.

European DJ Hero 2 Includes DJ Hero 1

There's no word on how long this deal is going to last so you might want to jump on it quickly-

European music fans can pick up the ultimate DJ Hero® 2 deal this October. Buy a specially marked DJ Hero 2 Turntable Bundle or Party Bundle and get a stand-alone copy of the critically acclaimed DJ Hero® as a bonus, while supplies last.  Combined that’s over 170 exclusive, original mixes featuring the biggest artists in pop, hip hop and dance, sure to transform living rooms into nightclubs letting budding beat chemists, singing sensations and all of their friends fire up two turntables and a microphone to experience their favourite music together in an all-new way.   Pre-order now or rush out on 22nd October to take advantage of this limited offer.

And again, this is for Euro territories only. I haven't heard anything about this deal stateside, although you might want to watch store specific deals for a combo pack- I could easily see a Toys R Us, for example, running with the idea to clear the old stock. Pretty much all of the big boxers have been running saleson DJ Hero for a while now. Just a few weeks ago it was $19.99 at the above mentioned TRU.

Metal Gear Solid PSP bundles announced & detailed

The new MGS game, Peace Walker, is arguably the biggest release for the PSP in the last few years and is definitely the biggest release for 2010.

Along side the UMD (I haven't heard about the digital version), there will also be a pair of special bundle packages offered. The first is the usual bundle that we're all used to- it includes a 2gig memory stick and a special 'camo' PSP. The second is a little better- the 'Big Boss' package includes the game, a 2gig stick, a camo PSP, a military green carry case, and special Metal Gear packaging.

As long as the package includes a carry case and some kind of different packaging it just seems soooo much more *special*

Spring into a new Xbox 360 bundle!

This is a pretty awesome deal actually- the new bundle deal from Microsoft contains a 360 Elite (120 gig HD) plus Halo 3: ODST AND Forza 3. I'm really not tryig to sound like a commercial here but that's freakin amazing. Two of the best games from last year and the best 360 on the market for the regular Elite price of $299. Excellent.

If you don't have a 360, or if you were thinking about a second one and don't have either of these two games- you might want to consider getting one of these. I have three of the damn things (and both of those games) and I'm still trying to come up with a reason to get it.

LEGO Rock Band free @ Old Navy

Yes, free as in free. Sort of. It will cost you sleep and twenty dollars American.

All you have to do is spend $20 on Black Friday and you get one. A fifty dollar game for twenty bucks. The way I figure it, you get some gifts for the Holidays and a game for yourself (or that could be a gift too), not bad.

Here's the drawback: only around the first hundred or so customers will get a copy and I hear from an inside source that wrist bands and a special line will be in your future if you decide to partake. That's not set in stone but it certainly sounds plausible. Oh, and get there early.

Like one in the morning early. Ugh-

I some additional Rock Band news, some of the tracks from LEGO RB will be exportable into other RB games. No real surprise there, but cool nonetheless.

Deals of the week for the rest of the month on Xbox Live

Here's some more Live info- the deals of the week for the rest of the month:

Week of November 23:

Fable II:  See the Future” (Microsoft Game Studios) will be available for 400 Microsoft Points

Peggle” (PopCap Games, Inc.) will be available for 400 Microsoft Points, and “Death Tank” (Snowblind Studios, Inc) will be available for 800 Microsoft Points worldwide.

Week of November 30:

Sonic The Hedgehog™ 2” (SEGA) available for 240 Microsoft Points worldwide (except India.)

Personally, I'll be getting Sonic 2. I have some great memories of playing that with my little friends over Christmas vacation. Watching Sonic fall to his death countless times on my parents massive 25" TV while freezing because my Dad wouldn't turn up the heat was pure magic... good times... good times...
