But no one I know had stopped calling it The Tap, or the Triboro the Triboro (renamed after Koch). Tappan Zee is a pretty cool name for a bridge.

The only semi-recent major renaming that seems to have stuck is the Jackie Rob (formerly Interboro) Pkwy. Maybe because Jackie Robinson was a truly historic and beloved person, and Cuomo or Koch not so much.

At least we don't have to worry about anything being renamed after f*ckin' Rudy Guiliani lol.
