On a recent visit to OKC, this darling home caught our attention as we were coming back to our home-for-the-week from dinner. Photo from sunset below.

Just a little bit Wicked
There are those who think my vintage doll is creepy, but if you've read my blog for very long, you already know she was a sentimental gift, and I think she is absolutely darling! I'd like to convince you that her costumes are for the granddaughters, but if we're being honest, I love playing with her, too!

A Nightmare of a Welcome Sign
Many of you know I recently began a new job. So far, training is going really well. With a different company, I am meeting some new acquaintances.
One of these teammates loves Nightmare Before Christmas, and asked me if I could create a Halloween Welcome Sign. The above photo is a cut file of Jack I purchased just for this project!

'Need a Quick Couples Costume?
We have neighbors who throw a BIG Halloween party every year that includes a costume contest. While Handsome Husband is polite about it, he would really rather not become a completely different character. Here are three simple and quick couples costumes that have worked for us in the past.
First up, we are TV's Gilligan and Mary Ann.

Outdoor Autumn Vignettes
My 2016 Gourd Harvest was shown in this post right HERE! Even though only three packets of seeds were planted, there were plenty for sharing with our family and friends. Of course I kept some for our Autumn decorating. Here are the outdoor photos.
One of my favorite features of our stone cottage are these little flower boxes built right into the rock! Aren't they pretty?
Depending on the season or holiday, there's no telling what might be tucked inside.
Of course flowers are my first choice. These pretties are pink Portulaca, common name Moss Roses.
A few Jack-O-Lanterns are tucked here and there.
They add a lovely splash of orange! After Halloween, they will be pulled.
The scarecrow, gourds and chrysanthemums will remain until our first frost.
My scarecrow is getting a bet scruffy, but I love him anyway!

A Lesson in Stage Make Up
Many moons ago, I was active with my high school drama group. Sometimes onstage, sometimes backstage. I always loved all the vibrant makeup and costume options! Hmmm... I wonder where those photos from long ago might be hiding? ;-)
Recently, Twisted Flight Fitness, a local dance studio / fitness center, offered an amazing class in stage make up! We have plenty of time to practice our new skills for Halloween! I'm sharing the creativity of the awesome group! (Please ignore the wild hair. We were focused on our make up!)
You can see the theme was half glamour and half ghoul! HOW FUN!
We were asked to bring our regular make up kits along with a small Halloween palette. I found my palette at a local retail store for $6 and some change.
We were then taken, step by step, through the process of creating each look!
On one side we are all smokey-eye and red lipstick gorgeous,
and on the other side, it looks like we've had a really bad day! ;-) YIKES! ;-)
Even though the participants in my class were adults, you can just imagine all the giggling and silly jokes! We had such a good time!
Do you like being creative with make up?
;-) -Marci
