Wedding card
I made this wedding card for my nephew and his new wife. The design is loosely based on the one shown in this blog post.
The dress shape was cut from a Silhouette store file and then put through an embossing folder (I think it's called Plum Blossom). The pink background was embossed with an embossing plate.
Ingredients:
Black and Blushing Bride card stock from Stampin' Up
Curious Metallic Cryogen White card stock from cutcardstock.com
Pearls (unknown)
Punches and ribbon from Stampin' Up

Baby Gear - Animal Style
A family member told us last year that she was expecting, so of course, a baby quilt and some baby gear were put on my project list. I found out through her pinterest page that she liked zebra stripes and black and pink, and eventually, it was revealed that they were expecting a little girl. So I made her a few zebra themed things. A quilt, a bib, some burp cloths, some tiny shoes, and of course, a card (not zebra themed). I've had these things done for a couple of weeks now but was waiting for the baby to arrive to post them. She had her Friday night! A perfect and beautiful little girl.
the quilt:
the back-very wild!
My usual curved corners-here's a close-up. I did my binding a little differently this time. Normally I sew it to the back, fold it to the front, and zig zag the edge-not really caring how it looks on the back. This time I accepted a challenge from my sister and sewed it to the front, folded it to the back, and sewed in the ditch on the front, catching the back. It was a little slower but I like how it turned out!
a close-up of the label, which I made on my new embroidery machine using EQ Stitch to trace my signature. You can also see the serpentine stitch I used for the quilting. I love this stitch and learned how to program it into my Janome 6600 on the Janome 6500/6600 yahoo group.
The shoes, made from a pattern by Lena's Patterns on Etsy
The bib, made from this tutorial
from the back-it has little armholes and gives pretty good coverage
Half a dozen burp cloths made from cloth diapers-using this tutorial (with a few changes):
And the card-another clothespin card.
ingredients:
kraft and pink card stock, patterned paper, clothespins, and cloud embossing folder: Stampin' Up
white card stock: Georgia Pacific
dies: nestabilities
twine: Divine twine
onesie shape: Lettering Delights Baby Simple Shapes set

Thanks, Girlfriend!
A few weeks ago my friend Jin sent me the most amazing Hello Kitty care package. If you didn't know this, I do love me some Hello Kitty. I asked her to pick up the Hello Kitty date stamp at Michaels for me, since I have no Michaels nearby, and she picked up a bunch more! Journals, tapes, embellishments, bookmarks and MORE. I'm a grown-up for the most part, but it's still fun to get a surprise in the mail! So I wanted to make her something special to show my appreciation. Since Jin isn't a quilter, I felt somewhat confident making her a quilted pillow. I had my doubts through the whole thing, like I do with pretty much every project, but I sent it anyway and she loves it! Here's the pillow I made using simple 4-patches and a heart patch from EQ, plus some white sashing. Fabrics are all from my stash and some were leftovers from other quilts.
and I made this super simple card for her too. I always want to use these cute mini clothespins from SU but they don't fit well in an envelope so this was the perfect opportunity.
ingredients:
white card stock: neenah
blue card stock: stampin' up
baker's twine: martha stewart
clothespins: stampin' up
stamp and ink: stampin' up
cloud embossing folder: stampin' up

A Simple Thanks
These are the cards I made for Christmas thank-yous. I wanted to keep it simple but still kinda nice, know what I mean? So I decided an embossing folder and a cut out shape would be perfect.

Happy Birthday, Girlfriend
***I wanted to answer a couple of the questions in the comments. I definitely used a pattern for the pillow. The signature is my actual signature though. I wrote it and scanned it and had a stamp made of it. So for this, I stamped it and then stitched over the stamping. The pillow didn't take long. I probably worked on it for about 5 days but only a couple hours a day. This includes starting it and changing my mind on the colors and starting over. It took me longer to find all of the fabrics I wanted to use. The original pattern was in the July/August 2007 issue of Quiltmaker magazine. They don't sell that issue anymore, but a very helpful commenter left a link to this site which is selling the pattern: Silver Linings Quilting. Thanks, Regina!! And thanks for everyone else's comments too. I appreciate each and every one. :) ***
I have a friend from high school who recently had a birthday. When we were in HS we were close but had a falling out (we laugh about it now). Shortly after HS we made up and became practically inseparable. Now we live 2000 miles apart and thanks to facebook, can keep in touch easily. She recently lost her dog so I decided to make her this cute paper pieced puppy pillow that I saw in a magazine a while back. She has had a rough time of it lately, so I was happy to send her something to lift her spirits. Here's the pillow:
Here is the back. I used this tutorial to put the zipper on it. When you use a full pillow form like I did, the front seems like it looks better with a zipped back and I liked the look of a hidden zipper. The tutorial was very easy to follow.
I decided to embroider my name on the back. I used my usual name stamp to stamp the image, and then just did a simple backstitch to embroider it.
Here is a simple card I made for her. I knew she would probably get it late (although she got it later than I was hoping) so the inside says "oops! It's a hare past your birthday". I didn't think to take a picture of the inside.
ingredients:
Stampin' Up Birthday Banter stamp set
Stampin' Up Cloud embossing folder
Copic Markers
EK Success border punch
Kraft cardstock: Stampin' Up
White cardstock: Neenah Paper
Green Cardstock: Bazzill

Ornaments card
I have officially started on Christmas cards! Only I just made one and have a lot to go. Hopefully I can keep up this momentum. ha.
The ornaments are from the Lettering Delights Christmas Dee-Licious svg set and I cut them out with my Silhouette SD using Silhouette Studio. All of the paper is from Stampin' Up except for the white, which is from Paper Trey Ink. I think the twine is from Divine Twine. I also used my little sewing machine to sew around the red patterned paper. The white squares are embossed with the Sizzix stars and swirls embossing folder and punched with a 1.5" square from Creative Memories. One ornament is hanging crooked but I'm leaving it. I used a sketch from Retro Sketches.
In case anyone is wondering, these are the settings I use for cutting out Stampin' Up cardstock: blade 5 (4 might be enough), speed 5, pressure 33, double cut (it will cut through with a single cut but some sharp corners do better with a double cut).

2011 Christmas Cards
Yep it's been a while. So anyway, these are the cards I made for Christmas this year.
This first one I made with a freebie file from the Silhouette store. I used my new favorite embossing folder, which is the stars & swirls from Sizzix. The baker's twine is Martha Stewart brand, the white card stock is Neenah and the red card stock and green patterned paper are both from Stampin' Up.
The next one was made with a file from Lettering Delights and cut out with the Silhouette SD. The embossing folder is from the evil Provo Craft. White card stock is Neenah and the rest of the card stock and the patterned paper is from Stampin' Up.
This is almost all from Stampin' Up. The off white card stock is Bazzill, the border punch is Martha Stewart and the baker's twine is Divine Twine from Whisker Graphics. I cased this card from Wrestlermomx2 on Split Coast Stampers. Thanks Wrestlermomx2!
This is a card I made to hold a gift card for my nephew. I used a tutorial from Jennifer McGuire. White card stock is Paper Trey Ink and colored card stock and stamp from Stampin' Up. I'm not sure about the patterned paper. The inside card stock is Bazzill. The image is stamped with memento ink and colored with copic markers. The inside scallop is from a Stampin' Up punch and the outside shapes were cut with nestabilities.

Hey Chickie-you're sssss-weet!!
I mentioned a couple of posts back that my friend Joy has created a set of saying stamps for the Cricut Create a Critter cartridge. I love this cart-it is so cute and along with Joy, my friend Jin has made the most amazing things with it. Joy was nice enough to send me a few of the stamps to try out and this is what I've come up with so far. I have been so out of the mood to make cards lately that I was planning to make just one for now, but honestly, it was so fun I made another one! And tomorrow my daughter is hoping to make another one for me to share.
All paper from Stampin'Up except the white, which is Neenah. I also used retiring or retired colors apricot appeal, eggplant envy and rose romance, plus current colors tempting turquoise and basic black. The tag is from the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge. I also used an embossing folder on the tag (I thought it looked kind of like scales) and inked the edges with craft ink. I don't know who makes the ribbon but it matched perfectly.
All paper from Stampin' Up except the white, which is Neenah. I used retiring barely banana and green galore, along with current colors bashful blue, pumpkin pie, basic black, and so saffron. I used the paper doll dress up cartridge for the grass, and I used the hello kitty greetings cartridge to make a cloud stencil for the cloud-which was sponged on with white craft ink.

Felt Flowers
I am completely out of mojo lately so I took this almost directly from the Stampin' Up demo magazine. I changed it a little. Not much. Not sure how happy I am with it but guess what-my mom is getting it anyway.

Last two Christmas cards
Here are the other two cards I made for Christmas.
This one is made using digital papers by Crystal Wilkerson. I printed them on shimmery cardstock. The stamp is from SU and it's stamped with Brilliance Rocket Red Gold ink and punched with a punch from SU. The heart punch, ribbon, blue paper and vanilla card base are also from SU.
This one is from the Very Merry Tags cricut cartridge. I used a cuttlebug embossing folder, digital paper from Jerri Ingalls, cardstocks from SU, Bazzill and Lasting impressions, shimmery vellum, SU border punch (from an upcoming catalog) and ribbon from SU.

Fox & Friends baby card
This is made with a new set from the upcoming Occasions mini. I pretty much cased this card from Jennifer McGuire. I made it for a family member who recently had a baby girl. In real life the lion's mane matches the darker pink paper-not sure why it doesn't here. I use my old DRebel to take card pics and it's not the greatest camera anymore.
stamps: SU Fox & Friends

Two Christmas cards-and a sketch challenge
I'm posting only two of my cards right now. The other two cards I did are going to people who read my blog-so I'll post them later.
This one is made with a digital stamp that I found here. I used the same background as the freebie but changed the color and then put the image on top and then printed it. I colored it with copic markers. I tried shading and all that but the colors looked so light (pink instead of red, for example) so I just colored it solid. The markers I used (forgot to take a picture) are C5, G07, G17, R17 and Y38. I printed the image on shimmery cardstock but you can't tell from the picture. It's shimmery though. I used some Stampin' Flock on the white parts of the hat. Cardstock and patterned paper are from Stampin' Up and the Christmas Greetings stamp is from..I think Hero Arts. Embossing folder from Cuttlebug. For this card I used Aly's sketch shown here, turned on its side. I didn't have room for the 3 dots so I left them out. I didn't want to make square cars since I don't have enough envelopes that size and shape.
the sketch:
This next one was made using a digital kit by Crystal Wilkerson. I printed the patterned papers onto some cardstock and then cut them up just as I would regular patterned paper. The tree and sentiment were printed on shimmery cardstock. I cut the tree out and glued it to the oval (which is SU vanilla cardstock). I also used nestabilities and my SU scallop border punch. Kraft cardstock is from Stampin' Up. I used stickles at the top of the tree.

Doodlebug flowers and critter card
This was for a bingo challenge. We got a bingo card and had to pick any line across, down or diagonally. So I made this and below the pics are the requirements and materials I used.
use 2 or more pp: my mind's eye
use at least 3 flowers: doodlebug friends stamp set (I think)
use red: SU cardstock
use at least 3 buttons: oriental trading
use glitter: stickles
also used twinkling h2os
ek success edge punch
This next one was for a critter challenge While cleaning out my room I found these cutouts that I don't even remember ever buying. I have a lot of that kind of stuff (the kind I don't remember). I got the sketch from a Joy of Cardmaking book.

Gorjuss girl-first one
I got these Gorjuss girl stamps in the mail-eight of them! So I wanted to make a card with one. Even though my coloring is still not quite there (the skin is too dark and I always forget to do that light source thing) I thought she came out pretty cute. I didn't want to keep messing with it too much or else I'm sure I'd ruin it. I used this sketch from Taylored Expressions.

nestabilities

Merry Christmas!!
I hope everyone who celebrates it had a nice Christmas (and even those who don't celebrate it-I hope you had a nice December 25th). I've been holding off on posting my Holiday cards so I'm going to post them here all at once. I only made 5 different ones this year.
stamp set: Two Cool Dudes from SU, Not Quite Navy craft ink and cardstock, Whisper White craft ink, Real Red cardstock, Stampin Up scallop edge punch, ribbon unknown, clear embossing powder, SU chalk for the cheeks and I used an orange zig marker for the nose. The white is shimmery cardstock (not SU but the same).
I *think* this was Ballet Blue cardstock, Snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder, Whisper White craft ink (rubbed over the snowflakes), Cricut snowman from Doodlecharms, hat from Paper Doll Dress up, Stickles for the hat band, rick rack for the scarf, you can't see it but there's diamond dust paper on the buttons, and I used an orange copic marker to color the noses (instead of cutting out separate noses from orange paper). Stampin Up chalk for the cheeks. The white card base is made with Paper Trey Ink white cardstock. The snowmen are cut from shimmery white cardstock and Chocolate Chip cardstock.
Real Red and Garden Green cardstock, shimmery white cardstock, Garden Green ink, red stickles for the dots on the tree, Snow Swirled stamp set, Many Merry Messages stamp set, Priceless stamp set (for the swirls-it's hard to see them), burgundy ink (I can't remember which burgundy but I think it was the older retired color), ticket corner punch.
Garden Green cardstock, shimmery white cardstock, stickers and rubons from Imaginisce, Tim Holtz distressing ink, Stampin Up scallop edge punch.
White cardstock from Paper Trey Ink, Pretty in Pink cardstock, Stampin Up patterned paper and chipboard frame (from the Country Living bundle), shimmery white cardstock, Imaginisce rubon, and the greeting stamp is from the Take a Bough set from Paper Trey Ink and I used Real Red craft ink to stamp it. Also used a Creative Memories corner rounder punch.
I never posted the ones I made last year so I'll post those in the next week or so.
