Daisies in a Jar - Cookie Card Challenge

Hi Crafters and Bakers!  Today is the Cookie Card Challenge!  My favorite crafting day of the month. I love it because it helps me to craft each month. :)  I saw some awesome Summer cookies that LilaLoa made and fell in love w/ the daisies in a mason jar cookie.  So cute!  I thought they would be perfect for a thank you, friend, thinking of you type of card.

Here is my interpretation of that cookie.  It was pretty simple but I love the simplicity of them because they are the perfect for the whatever occasion card.

My mom loved the card so much that she asked if I could make 3 more cards in different colors for the ladies she works with.

Here are the summer cookies that LilaLoa made and you can see her post HERE.

Aren't those fun?  Make sure you head on over to Georganne's website, LilaLoa, to check out what cookies she made based off of one my card designs.

Thanks for stopping by!

Daffodil Thank You Card - Cookie Challenge!

Hello Crafters & Bakers! Today LilaLoa and I are doing our Cookie Card Challenge. I chose the following Daffodil cookies to make a paper project off of.  They are so pretty and I just love the dimension to them.  Isn't she just amazing???  You can see her post about these cookies HERE.

I found this really pretty Daffodil in my Cricut Library.  It was one flat flower w/ a shadow behind it so I cut out the main image in two different colors and paper pieced them together for my flower image.  I love how this turned out.

My Cricut also wrote out the Thank You for my message.  I love this pen option with the new Cricut Explore machine.  I hardly use my message stamps anymore because I have this feature.

I also bought a new Anna Griffith Cuttlebug Embossing Folder.  I usually tend for more simple designs but I wanted to try this one out and I just loved it.

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to drop by LilaLoa's blog to see what cookies she made off of one of my card designs!  :)

Cookie Card Challenge - Yummy Popsicles!

Hi Crafters & Bakers! Today Georganne and I are doing our Cookie Card challenge. Which means I get to snag one of her designs and create a card off of it, w/ permission. :) It has been SO hot here in Utah and when I saw her Popsicle cookies I just had to make them on a card. I didn't put a sentiment on it so it can be used for a Thank You, Just Because, Hi, and a Birthday card. Lately when I have been making cards for a non specific reason I don't put a sentiment on it so I can use it in different ways.  Here are the cards that Georganne made:

You can see her post on these cookies HERE.

Here is my card on it:

I added Glossy Accents to the Popsicles to make them look wet.

Be sure to head on over to LilaLoa, Georganne's blog, to see what she made of mine.  Be sure to hang there for a while and read her posts and look at her cookies.  Her posts are so funny and interesting and her cookies are just amazing!

Happy Mothers Day or Any Occasion Card

Hi Crafters! Today Glora and I are having our cut challenge. I needed to make a Mother's Day card so I chose this very pretty tulip cut by Bird. You can download this cut HERE. All her SVG files are free! There are some amazing cuts on her website, Bird's Cards.

I flooded the cut with Pretty Papers Pretty Ribbon Spring Fling paper collection. You can see the papers HERE.  So pretty!  I love the paper designs.  Totally worth the moola!  I cut out the tulip twice.  One for the back and the 2nd one I attached on the edges and stuck tissue paper between the two to make it more 3D and rounded.  I love the way it turned out.  Unfortunately it doesn't really show the roundness/3D-ness in the pics.  :)

Sorry the pics are dark.  I had to use my cell.

Be sure to stop by Glora's website, Glora's Crafts, to see what she made with this cut.  She is extremely talented and creates her projects with a lot of detail.  :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon Guest Designer - SPRING!

Hi Crafters! I'm so excited for today! I'm a Guest Designer for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon. FUN!!!   I couldn't resist and made 2 Spring projects for my post.  I also didn't add any sentiment to my projects so I can use them for Birthdays, Thank Yous, Get Wells, or Just Because occasions.

The first project I made is this wonderful Spring Tree. I bought this tree, actually called Autumn Tree, you can find the file HERE.  I fell in LOVE with this tree.  I instantly purchased it when I saw it.  I had no clue how it layers but thought it would be fun.  I also LOVE digital designer paper.  PPPR has a fabulous Spring Designer Paper line called Spring Fling, you can find the designer paper HERE.  Combine the two and you get this Wonderful Spring tree!

So for layering, it layers SOOOO easily.  Each layer seriously just lays on top of one another.  Here is a side view so you can see the depth and layers of this tree:

Another side view:

For my second project I used the same Spring Fling Digital Designer paper and I also used this adorable female Robot from the Robot Group, you can find the file HERE.  The cloud paper in the background is also from the Spring Fling Designer paper.  It is so versatile.  It's a definite must have in my opinion.  Here is my project:

I hand cut the green cardstock for my "grass/hill" then used a Versamarker to outline and make the dots on it.

In the middle of the dress was originally a heart but since I wanted a more Spring design I changed it out w/ a freebie Silhouette flower.

Thanks for stopping by!  I want to give a Special THANK YOU to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon for allowing me to be a guest designer on their blog.  I had so much fun.  THANKS!!!  Be sure to go to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon Blog to see other projects and make sure you go to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon Store to check out their amazing cuts & designer papers.  :)

Green Apple Thank You!

Hi Crafters & Bakers! Today Georganne w/ LilaLoa and I are doing our cookie card challenge. It's when I'm lucky enough to be given permission to "steal", I mean be inspired by one of her cookie creations.  The cookies I chose to be inspired by are these classy apple green damask apple cookies.  You can see her blog post on these cookies HERE

Seriously how elegant are those?  I love them!  And that apple green is just perfect.  Here is my card inspiration from them.

The color looks more apple green in person.  I swear.  lol  :)  The design on the apple came from Digital Scrapbook.  You can find this design HERE.  Basically choose your color, choose your design, save it to your desktop then drag it into your Silhouette cut and it fills the cut w/ the design.  You can enlarge the design, make it smaller, pan it, etc. in the advanced settings.  FREE Designer Paper!  :)

Thanks for stopping by!  Be sure to head on over to Georganne's blog to see what she made of mine.  :)

Thank a Professional Day!

Thanks a Professional day! OK, I don't really know if that is a thing or not but I have 2 professionals I wanted to thank so I made them each a card.

First off is for the office assistant at my surgeons office.  We have been battling it out w/ my insurance now for a month.   When I talk with her I can hear her frustration w/ the situation w/ the insurance but she has always been professional with me and always goes a little farther w/ customer service.  So I made her this funny card to hopefully bring a smile to her face:

I found the image online then added a band-aid to the image.  Print & Cut w/ my Silhouette (LOVE this feature) and attached it to a card.  I also created the banner tag & sentiment.  :)  So cute and So funny!  That face on the kid is just darling.  lol  :)

This next one is for my tax accountant.  He has been battling the IRS for me for over a year now and we just found out that we won our case and I owe $0.  Woo Hoo!!!  So I just wanted to send him a simple Thank You card.

The book, calculator, and pen came from the Miss Kate Cuttables 'First Day of 7th Grade' SVG Cuts.  You can find the collection HERE.  I bought this set mainly for the calculator and it was a bonus that the pen & book were in the collection too!  :)

Simply Thank You

Hi Crafters & Bakers! Today I'm making a card off of an Easter cookie my cousin Georganne made in March 2012. I needed some inspiration for a Thank You card. Of course, I go to her creative site (it's amazing, check it out) and saw this little gem and thought it would be a perfect card. Thanks Georganne!!! :)

To see the post showcasing this yummy creative deliciousness go HERE.  The following is my version of this cookie:

To make the dotted pattern I found this dotted cut on the Holiday Cakes Cricut cartridge.  OK first, I had NO clue I had that cartridge!  LOL  Second, I layered it on my Gypsy to create this design and just hid the rectangle that surrounded the dots so the dots were the only thing that was cut.  The cut is found on page 64 in the handbook and on button 37.  This is what the cut looks like:

Thanks for stopping by!

Hawaiian Thank You!

Hi Crafters & Bakers!  Today I'm going to give you a sneak peek of some cookies that Georganne hasn't featured yet.  Well, at least I don't think she has.  :)  These cookies she made for my aunt, her mother-in-law.  My dad took the pic at the party, so I had an inside scoop!  I loved the island image cookie and decided to make my card off of that one.  (HERE is her post that she did on these cookies)

Here is my card based off those cookies...

I made this card in a postcards style.  I didn't have a folded edge.  Here's the back.

Make sure you head on over to Georganne's blog to see what she made of mine into a cookie.

I also wanted to share a video I made of my story over the last year.  If you don't mind, take the time to watch and share with others.  Thank you!

Elegant Thank You

Hi Crafters! Today Glora and I are doing our Cricut Cut Challenge. This month I chose the birdcage cut from the Straight from the Nest Cricut Cartridge.  It's been a while since I used this cartridge so I wanted to pull it out and use it.  Saw this birdcage and thought that it might be a challenge to alter it as I kinda like to do.

So I decided to make a square card and enlarge the cut.  For some reason I love doing this and I have a tendency to do it as well.  Here is my card...

I cut the size at 9" and my card is 5"x5".  The patter paper is from the DCWV Linen Closet paper pack.  I loved the colors in this paper pack, soft and elegant.

I had cut out two birds just in case and so I had an extra one and decided to decorate the backside of the envelope w/ it.  It's kind of hard to see on the picture.

Make sure you head on over to Glora's blog to see what she made with this cut.  She's my favorite crafter.  I want to be like her when I grow up.  I LOVE the way she completes a card.   :)
