Dresses for Spring + Summer Weddings

1+ 2 + 3 + 4
5 + 6 + 7 + 8

I've gotten a couple questions and comments about what to wear to an upcoming wedding, rehearsal dinner or shower. If you want additional ideas, check out this recent post

I love the idea of florals and bright colors...oh and that gorgeous dusty lilac!

To round out these dresses a nude heel really works with any of these options. And I love a simple clutch for the occasion!

Do you have any big events coming up?

Night in Carmel Valley

On Sunday night, we escaped to Carmel Valley for Michaela's gorgeous vineyard wedding.  We had originally planned to go for the weekend...but scheduling snafus and a stomach bug limited us to a quick trip.  It was one really fabulous night though!

We had the luxury of staying at Carmel Valley Ranch, which was a last minute decision, thanks to Hotel Tonight {you must download the app if you haven't already and use CODE: NSCHUE to save $25 on your first booking!}.  We got a killer deal!  The property and rooms were just breathtaking...we pinched ourselves when we checked in.

 The view from our suite!

All of the rooms are suites with vaulted ceilings, two fireplaces, a large walk-in bathroom, and tons of amenities.  It's very family friendly too--we would love to come back with the kids!

Probably my favorite touch was coming back from the wedding to having our curtains drawn, our lights turned low and this little note on our bed!

Speaking of the wedding...I wanted to give you some sneak peeks!

We got to hang out with Michelle and her handsome husband!

And if you know anything about Michaela, then you know she hit the nail on the head when it came to all the gorgeous details!  I'll leave the professional photographer to the rest...but believe me when I say, it was magical!

My Weekend // SLO Wedding

First, you might notice things look a little bit different around here!  I hope that this new blog design helps you navigate my site a bit better...and if you have any suggestions, don't hesitate to let me know!

This past weekend, we celebrated our friend's wedding in our college town, San Luis Obispo.  We spent three nights and four days with some of our best friends for what turned out to be a pretty amazing college reunion.  And to top it off, we were kid free, which was pretty amazing and crazy all at the same time.  I'm fairly certain we haven't been away from Ethan that long and I definitely hadn't been away from Wyatt that long.  Luckily, they got to spend the weekend with family, so we knew they were in good hands.  It was a weekend full of friends, food and lots of memories...

No road trip is complete without an In-N-Out stop!

Once we arrived, we hit up the Thursday night Farmer's Market and went to Novo for some amazing rosé and apps on their back deck.

Later, we went to Batch for their amazing, homemade ice cream sandwiches.

The next morning, we grabbed coffee at my favorite little spot, Scout...

Isn't it darling?

Then it was time to hit up a couple wineries before the wedding festivities began.  I swear I went to college here, but I had NO idea there were amazing wineries around the corner.  I'm told they weren't really establishes 10+ years ago, but wow!

Here we are wine tasting at Edna Valley Vineyards...so good!

Mer and I at the rehearsal dinner.

All the boys lined up...isn't the setting gorgeous?

The groom & bride with their groomsmen.

A delicious latte from Sally Loo's...

And one of the most scrumptious breakfasts I've ever had!

Wedding Weekend

We had a whirlwind of a weekend which included traveling to Pleasanton for one of Ryan's fraternity brother's wedding.  It's always super fun to get together with this group...who are now mostly all married and some have babies {or are pregnant!} now too!

My Dress--which was perfect for nursing!  My sunglasses

The beautiful venue--Garre Winery

Ryan with two of his best friends...and Wyatt too!  ;)  Ethan stayed home with his grandparents.

Baby on board!

We're all about the carriers.  Ryan rocked the Baby Bjorn while I wore the Solly Baby Wrap {my favorite!}.  Wyatt always falls asleep in there!

Yes...this is how we do weddings now!  ;)

My Brother's Wedding

I can't believe my brother's wedding was already two weeks ago!  It was one of the most special evenings filled with sweet moments and lots of family time.  We joked that family should get married more often because it was so fun seeing family from across the country.  From Massachusetts to Washington, with Illinois and Michigan in between, it was quite the family affair!  And there's just something about seeing my baby brother get married...with my own baby in the wedding, that made me super sentimental.  Here are some pictures from the special day!

The wedding we held at Hartley Botanica and was like something out of an enchanted garden.  Every turn had a sweet surprise and the grounds were just beautiful.  Ethan was "ring security" during the rehearsal...too cute!

Ethan was so proud of himself for walking down the aisle...he started clapping with everyone!  The sign says: Uncle Kirk Here Comes you Girl!

The morning of the wedding, all the bridesmaids got their hair and makeup done and we wore these super cute robes too!

How darling is this bus that picked us up?

Sweet signs around every corner!

The dress!

The stinker of a ring bearer!  His little outfit is a combination of J.Crew, Gap and stellaEM Haberdashery.

The details!

The handsome groom and groomsmen.

Brothers!

My little family!

The first dance!

The gorgeous venue...there were market lights, twinkling lights in the trees and tons of hanging votive candles....so magical!

Me with the bride...my new sister!

I can't wait to see the professional photos come in...Ethan did SO well during the wedding.  He was a dancing MACHINE and was definitely one of the highlights of the night out on the dance floor!  ;)

I hope you all have wonderful weekends!
