You're BERRY Sweet!

Hi everyone! Today is my day to share over at My Craft Spot blog. I wanted to make a summery card and nothing says summer more than a big bowl of tasty strawberries. :)

I cut the strawberries and bowl from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge at 3.59". I layered the bowl of berries with the 4" Doily Metal Die. I tied a cherry red traditional bakers twine bow around my bowl.
You're BERRY Sweet is from the Tasty Treats stamp set. I created the tag using the Tiny Doilies Metal Dies. I use the Tiny Doilies metal dies whenever possible. I love the fact that I always get a clean cut every time.
Now, the strawberries only come with a leaf/steam cut, so I added some blossoms using the Small Alphabet metal dies. Did you know the Small Alphabet metal dies have shapes as well? The flower shape is great for adding that something extra--like a pop of color or extra layer for dimension. Love!

I didn't have time to wait for glossy accents to dry, so I embossed the strawberries and bowl with clear embossing powder and heat, and it gave it some really cool texture and shine--with NO drying time.

I hope you all enjoyed today's card and you feel inspired to create. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween! I want to wish all of you a fun and safe Halloween. My fingers are crossed that the weather cooperates (for everyone)! I made one last Halloween card--just for all of you. :)
This cute little bat is from the Simply Charmed Cricut cartridge cut at 2.30".
I cut three of the same bat, one in purple, black dots. and just black. I cut the
wings off the purple and black dots bat and then glued them all back together
on the solid black bat with the color combination the way I have pictured here.
There wasn't a layering option so I made my own. :) The card base
is from the Life's A Party cartridge cut at 4.65". The yellow moon is from
Life's A Party cartridge cut at 4.30", found on the same page as the card base.

For the bat's cute face I used Peachy Keen's Snow Cuties, and just used
scissors to cut my own fangs-super easy.
This great sentiment is from Best Witches To You stamp set
by My Craft Spot.
You just knew I was going to make my little bat fly. :)
Be sure to check back tomorrow for a special treat from me to you! :)

Monday Challenge-#72 Boo To You

Happy Monday! Hopefully you all had a wonderful weekend. Our daughter, Madeline, surprised us with a visit home from college. It was great spending some time with her-the time went SO fast!!

Today marks the 1st of October. Already?? I hope that I'll be able to start decorating the house this week for Halloween-we'll see. :) What a better way to start to kick off the Halloween season, than with a *Boo To You* challenge over at My Craft Spot blog.
Can I just say one more time how much I love the last stamp
release. OK, I love them all, but I have really
been having fun with this last release.
The ghost is from the Simply Charmed cartridge cut at 3.12".
The face is stamped with a cute Peachy Keen
Monster Mash Face . I added a Sky Trendy Twine bow.
The *Boooo to You* and the cute little spider are from the
Stampin' Around Fall stamp set by My Craft Spot.
I also used the Tiny Doilies metal dies-LOVE!
Have you used the new metal dies yet? They are
so fun and easy to use!
For a fun touch I added a wobble to my little ghost.
Kimberly has an awesome video on how to make wobbles.
You can see it HERE.
*Have a Hauntingly delightful Halloween* is from the
Ghostly Greetings stamp set by My Craft Spot.
I hope you will all get a chance to enter the *Boo To You* challenge. Be sure to link your project over at My Craft Spot blog.I am excited to see what everyone creates. :)

Welcome to day #3 of My Craft Spot's Stamp Release Party. Today we are sharing a little peek of the new stamp set
* 'Tis the Season*. Based on the title alone- you know your going to love it! :)
*Santa Claus is comin' to town!* from the new stamp set
*'Tis the Season* by My Craft Spot. So fun, right! The
house is from the Wrap It Up cartridge, cut at 5 1/2". (I positioned
the house roof where I wanted and just cut the rest off with my
paper trimmer.) Santa is from the Simply Charmed cartridge, cut
at 2 1/2". The chimney is from the same cartridge, cut at 2".
Of course I used a cute little Peachy Keen face stamp for Santa.
Polar white flower soft for the snow and Stickles for the
frosty snow on the chimney. I wrapped all this goodness up
with a maraschino colored twine bow. :)
*Merry Christmas* another stamp from the new set

My Craft Spot Challenge #31 -See Through Projects

Hi everyone! It's Monday, and that means it's challenge time over at the My Craft Spot blog. This week's challenge is to create something using a clear product, like acetate. I was so excited about this challenge because I have had a pack of Clearly Creative Cardstock from PaperTrey Ink that I have been waiting to use.
I used the *TOO cute To Spook!*sentiment from the
Candy Corn Kisses set. The tree and bat are cut from
the Simply Charmed cartridge at 3 1/4. The overall card is
5X5. The clear cardstock is heavy weight, so it's easy
to cut, score, and fold.
I love how the inner layer shows through.
The *Happy Halloween* sentiment is from the
Happy Hauntings set.
Be sure to enter your project for a chance to win this week's prize, the Friends & Neighbor's-Inside & Out set. Great set! Also, check out all of the other DT projects-HERE
I have tons to share this week, so I'll see you back here tomorrow. :) Have a great day!

Scrappy Mom's Challenge

I decided to try the Scrappy Mom's Terrific Tuesday Challenge. The challenge was to use your Simply Charmed cartridge. Here is what I came up with.
I inked the edges with the Creamy Brown
ColorBox chalk ink. I added stitching with
my sewing machine.
The *Hello, Sweet Little One* sentiment if from the
Scrappy Mom's stamp set-The Charmed Life.
The sweet face is from the Peachy Keen stamp set
PK-754 Critter Faces set A Medium
By glueing down the outer twigs of the nest-it
gave the nest a *rounded* look.

Recipe:
  • Scrappy Mom's stamp set The Charmed Life
  • Peachy Keen Stamps PK-754 Critter faces SET a Medium
  • Simply Charmed cartridge
  • Create a Critter cartridge
  • AC cardstock
  • DCWV The Linen Closet stack
  • Creamy brown chalk ink
  • Scotch Quick Dry glue
  • Stampin Up Pop Dots
Cuts:
  • Simply Charmed cartridge pg.35
  • 2 1/2" shift chick and egg (I used my Gypsy to *hide* the face on the chick)
  • Create a Critter cartridge pg.53
  • 1 3/4" accessory nest
I was going for one of Martha Stewarts fancy chickens for my inspiration. I used my Gypsy to *hide* the face on the baby duck. I stamped the face and turned the duck into a chick. I popped the nest up with pop dots and glued the twig edges to create a rounded look to the nest. I know I will be making more of these cards with different chicks and beautifully colored speckled eggs. Perfect for spring!

I have to finish up valentines for tomorrow's post. Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)
