Polish Pickup November 2024 Nostalgic Toys: Noodles Nail Polish Holiday '94

 *press sample*

Hello hello everyone! I can't believe Halloween is tomorrow and Polish Pickup starts on Friday. It feels like October just flew by. Don't forget, it's Daylight Savings Time this weekend, so lots of our clocks will be falling back. I will be going to work and coming home in the dark, so I do not love DST. This month's Polish Pickup theme is Nostalgic Toys and wish listing is up right now, so get that cart ready. The shop officially opens at 11:00 AM ET Friday, November 1st and ends on Monday, November 4th at 11:59 PM (but if a polish has a bottle limit and sells out before the end of the pre-order, it's gone, unless you get lucky and the cap gets raised...which can happen, but you have to be in the Facebook group for the notification) on the PPU website.

Noodles Nail Polish Holiday '94 1 coat (thumb, index, and thumb) over 2 coats Zoya Sia
Noodles Nail Polish Holiday '94 (ring and pinkie) 3 coats only
Inspiration: Holiday Barbie 1994
Price: $12
Bottle Limit: 200

Who didn't love Barbie, especially the holiday special editions? Just a quick reminder of what Holiday Barbie 1994 looked like:

Now just look how great Natalie did with the glitter topper this month! I say glitter topper, but this one can definitely be used on its own in 3 coats. It's a clear-based polish with a mix of holo and metallic gold glitters, metallic red and green glitters, and a touch of gold shimmer. This one just shines on the nail! If you are making this a full-coverage polish, I recommend dabbing on the first coat to position the glitters which will allow the subsequent layers to build up easily with more coats. This one does dry with lots of texture due to the glitters, so I recommend a coat of glitter-smoothing topcoat followed by a quick-dry topcoat to get that glass-like finish.

Noodles Nail Polish Fall 2024 Collection Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hi everyone! I need to apologize for the lack of posts lately. In mid-August we had to put our 19-year-old cat, Mr. Nose, down. It was devastating. We just lost our Clipsy cat at Christmas, so we are still raw from that. And honestly, September has been a blur so far. With the sad news out of the way, I have much more exciting things to share with you tonight. You all know Noodles Nail Polish's fall collections have always been a favorite of mine. Natalie really captures that fall feeling with her crellies. Tonight I've got swatches of the 6-piece collection that will be released this Saturday, September 21st at 5 PM EST on the Noodles website. Each polish will retail for just $10.50 each. Swatch time!

Noodles Nail Polish Spring 2024 Garden Collection Swatches and Reviews

 *press samples*

Hello hello! I hope your week has been going well. Honestly, mine hasn't been great. I just lost my Clipsy cat in December, and now my other almost 19 year-old cat Mr. Nose isn't doing well and we've been a worried mess. That said, there are lots of things to brighten your day, like nail polish. Nail polish is my form of self-care and I've been doing it for decades. I hope nail polish is your safe haven as well. Tonight I've got the new Noodles Nail Polish Garden Collection to share with you. This is a 6-piece set which features crellies and glitter toppers. They will be available this Friday, April 26th at 6 PM EST on the Noodles Nail Polish website for $10.50 each.

As always, this is gonna be a picture-heavy post, so shall we get started?

Zoya Color of the Month March 2024: Lucky

 *press sample*

New month, new Color of the Month polish from Zoya. When you think of March, you know it's all about St. Patrick's Day! Last Sunday people celebrated the day, but I'm guessing lots of people ended up actually celebrating on Saturday instead. I wanted to get this post out as soon as possible, because these limited edition polishes from Zoya are arouhttps://www.artofbeauty.com/content/item/Nail-Polish-Lucky-ZP3017.htmlnd for approximately a month. It may be April 1st, or it could be later in the month, but none of the other COTM shades are currently available, so there's that. This month we have Lucky, and it retails for $12 and you can get free shipping with code LUCKY.

Zoya Lucky (2 coats)

What a holiday-appropriate polish! Lucky is a glittery leafy green base with tons of gold and blue holographic glitters. It's extremely eye-catching, and full of bling. I expected to need 3 coats to fully cover the nail, but surprisingly it was opaque in just 2 coats. Oh, and the formula was just impeccable. I went ahead and used a glitter-smoothing topcoat followed by at QDTC for the photos, but you could probably get away with just a coat of topcoat for a mostly smooth finish. But like any glitter polish, this one will take some time to remove. Use a peel-off base coat, or soak it off with some cotton balls and nail clip covers to make it easier for yourself.

You can find out more about Zoya on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. They often have sales, so check their social media pages periodically.

Warm State

Naps and Nails Z-Z-Z-Zombies (2 coats) Transitioning
Inspiration: Paranorman
Price: $13
Bottle Limit: 100 bottles

I absolutely love this! Z-Z-Z-Zombies is a thermal flakie polish that transitions from green when warm to deep blue when cold with metallic pink/purple/blue flakes. The flakes go so well with the polish, and really adds depth to it. Swatches show 2 coats and it applied flawlessly. Even with the flakes, it only needed one coat of topcoat to smooth it all out. I love it!

You can find out more about the Little Box of Horrors box on their Facebook page. Make sure to set your alarms to pick this one up since it has a smaller bottle cap.

January 2024 Polished Gamers Box: Naps and Nails My Biggest Adventure Yet

 *press sample*

Hello yet again! The next polish I have to share with you from Naps and Nails is for the Polished Gamers Box.  It doesn't matter if you're a gamer or not; these polishes from the makers are so fun and beautiful. You may remember this box used to be monthly, but they recently changed to a quarterly schedule with each quarter having a different theme. This month's theme is Playstation vs. Xbox, and the pre-order will begin on Monday, January 15th and run through Friday, January 20thShall we get a closer look at what Naps and Nails has in store for us?

Naps and Nails My Biggest Adventure Yet (2 coats)
Inspiration: Little Big Planet 3
Price: $13
Bottle Limit: 100 bottles

What a shifty polish! This one is so amazing! My Biggest Adventure Yet is a teal base with loads of shimmery shifts of purple, green, and gold. I have a prominent C curve on my nail, so this one is extra shifty on my nails. This one applied perfectly in just 2 coats, and it dried with no texture. It needed only one coat of topcoat, and removal was a breeze.

If you want to see swatches of the items available for the box ahead of time, you can always join the Polished Gamers Box Facebook Group to see what's coming from all the brands.

Zoya November 2023 Color of the Month: Amaris

 *press sample*

Zoya Amaris (2 coats)

Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! I wanted to get this post out as soon as possible, because Zoya has these limited editions that are their Color of the Month shades and I'm unsure how long it will be available. It may be December 1st, or it could be later in the month, but none of the other COTM shades are currently available, so there's that. This month we have Amaris, and it retails for $12 and you can get free shipping with code CTM77.

Ok, on to the polish: Amaris is a teal-leaning blue jelly base with loads of holographic hexagonal glitters. I thought it could be a 3-coater since it's a jelly, but I needed just 2 thicker coats for full opacity. It does dry with texture from all the glitters, so I recommend a glitter-smoothing topcoat followed by a QDTC, or at least 2 coats of a regular topcoat. What do you think of this month's shade?

You can find out more about Zoya on their websiteFacebookTwitter, or Instagram pages. They often have sales, so check their social media pages periodically.

Notta Box November 2023 OOH Shiny Things: Naps and Nails Oberon

*press sample*

Hello hello! Yes, I'm back so soon, and this time with a new quarterly collaboration sale to the blog. Notta Box will be opening from November 10-15th and this month's theme is OOH Shiny Things. I'm glad that other collaborative boxes (or notta boxes 😂) are available these days. I know Polish Pickup scaled down their offerings a bit this year and there are requirements that make newer brands simply not able to partake. Shall we get a better look at what Naps and Nails will have for us this month?

Naps and Nails Oberon (2 coats)
Inspiration: Supernatural's very own Dean and his first encounter with Fairies.
Price: $13
Bottle Limit: None

I'm a big Supernatural fan, but somehow my husband and I just stopped watching after a bunch of seasons so I actually don't know how the show ended. Oops! I do remember this episode with Dean's encounter with Fairies! Oberon is a lime green base with silver reflective glitter, and shimmery shifts of green, pink, and gold. The reflective glitter adds a little texture to the finish, but I didn't find I needed to use a glitter smoothing topcoat. As soon as my husband saw this bottle, he told me "I need to put this one on my toes" which he totally did. If that isn't a glowing recommendation, I don't know what is.

There you have it, folks! I hope you'll stop by the Notta Box site on November 10th to see all the goodies, including this one. You can find out more about the Notta Box on their Instagram page while you can find out more about Naps and Nails on their website, Facebook Group, or Instagram pages.
