Two summery 1970’s inspired shawl patterns featuring an elongated stitch bubble pattern.

Both patterns are easy to knit, with a ten row repeat.
The color changes every five rows to enhance the bubble pattern.

The stitch pattern can be worked in variegated or self striping yarn for a more random color distribution, or in a plain color or gradation for a more subtle look.

Bubblewrap Crescent (top two photos) is knit on 2.75/3/3.25/5mm US2/2.5/3/8 needles with approximately 150g/630m/690yds of Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift yarn in a variety of colors.
The increasingly bigger needles create the crescent shape.
Dimensions: approximately 62in/160cm across by 27in/68cm deep
Gauge: approximately 12 sts & 14 rows = 4ins/10cm in lace pattern on 3mm/US2.5 needles

Bubblewrap Rectangle (third and fourth photos) is knit on 3.5mm/US4 needles with approximately 115grams/490m/530yds of Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift yarn in a variety of colors
Dimensions: approximately 62in/160cm by 21.5in/54cm
Gauge: approximately 12 sts and 13 rows = 4ins/10cm in lace pattern

The pdf contains a chart and full written instructions for both patterns, and a splicing phototutorial.
