    Abdul Latif (1927 – 27 February 2005) was a Bangladeshi singer, musician, and lyricist. He was the initial composer of the Bengali language movement song, "Amaar Bhaiyer Rakte Rangano Ekushey February". He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 1997 and Independence Day Award in 2002 by the Government of Bangladesh.

He was also a language activist of the Language Movement and composer of "Amar Bhaier Rokte Rangano", the famous song written to commemorate the event.

  • Ayub Bachchu (Bengali pronunciation: [aeĢÆub batʃtʃu]; 16 August 1962 – 18 October 2018) was a Bangladeshi rock guitarist, composer and singer-songwriter, who was the founder of the Bangladeshi rock band LRB and earned success as the lead singer and the lead guitarist of the band. Born in Patiya, Bachchu came to Chittagong with his family in the early 1970s. He formed his first band "Ugly Boys" in 1977, while studying in high school and joined in rock band Feelings (Now known as Nagar Baul) as the guitarist the same year. He played in the band from 1977 to 1980. In 1980, he joined Souls where he played for ten years and appeared in four studio albums including Super Souls (1982), College Er Corridore (1985), Manush Matir Kachakachi (1987) and East and West (1988). In 1991, he left the band to form his own band LRB, where he was the vocalist and guitarist for 27 years, until his death in 2018. He released the first ever double album: LRB I and LRB II in 1992, with the band. LRB's third studio album Shukh, which featured "Cholo Bodle Jai", one of the greatest rock songs in Bangladesh. He also received well success as a solo artist. His first solo album Rokto Golap was released in September 1986. He got his breakthrough by releasing albums like Moyna (1988) and Koshto (1995) which received well success. He released only one instrumental rock album in his career: Sound of Silence (2007), which is the first ever instrumental album in Bangladesh. Bachchu released several best selling-albums with LRB, and as a solo performer. Bachchu is widely regarded as the greatest and most influential guitarist of Bangladesh.The Top Tens ranked him second on their list of "Top 10 Greatest Guitarists of Bangladesh", only behind Ibrahim Ahmed Kamal of Warfaze. He is sometimes referred to as "the guitar god" by his fans. He has won six Meril Prothom Alo Awards, one Citycell-Channel I Music Award with LRB and won the Bachsas Awards in the Best Male Vocal category in 2004. In 2017, he won the Tele Cine Lifetime Achievement Award. Bachchu married his girlfriend Ferdous Ayub Chandana on January 31, 1991, with whom he had a daughter, Fairuz Saffra Ayub and a son, Ahnaf Tazwar Ayub. In October 2018, Bachchu died of cardiac failure in his own residence in Dhaka, six years after he was suffering of lung ailment. He gave his last performance in Rangpur City two days before his death. He was buried in Chaitanya Goli in Chittagong, beside his mother's grave.

    Mahbubul Haque Khan (28 February 1950 – 5 June 2011), best known as Azam Khan, was a Bangladeshi singer-songwriter, record producer, and lead singer for the rock band "Uchcharon". He was also a freedom fighter. He took part in the Liberation War of Bangladesh in 1971. He is considered to be one of the greatest artist in the history of Bangladeshi popular music.Khan was born and raised in Dhaka. He was interested in music since his childhood. He started his music career there with the group "ą¦•ą§ą¦°ą¦¾ą¦Øą§ą¦¤ą¦æ ą¦¶ą¦æą¦²ą§ą¦Ŗą§€ ą¦—ą§‹ą¦·ą§ą¦ ą§€ (Trinity Artist Group)" in 1967. He attended in the 1969 mass uprising, against the Pakistani army. In 1971, inspired by his father, he and his brothers took part in the Liberation War of Bangladesh. He was trained in Meghaloy, India. He fought in the Sector 2, under Major Khaled Mosharraf. In mid-December, 1971 he came back from the camps and started his music career again. He found the pioneering rock band "Uchcharon", along with his friends Nilu (lead guitars) and Mansoor (rhythm guitars), Sadek (drums). They first appeared on Bangladesh Television in 1972. They got commercial success with the hit "রেল লাইনের ą¦¬ą¦øą§ą¦¤ą¦æą¦¤ą§‡ (In the Slum Beside the Rail Line)" in 1975. Releasing more hit songs in the 1970s, like "আলাল ও দুলাল (Alal and Dulal)", "সালেকা মালেকা (Saleka Maleka)" and "পাপঔ়ি কেন ą¦¬ą§‹ą¦ą§‡ą¦Øą¦¾? (Why Doesn't Papri Understand?)". Khan died in June 2011 from oral cancer in Dhaka. His contribution to the music industry, brought him the second highest civilian honour award "Ekushe Padak", which he was awarded posthumously in 2019 and also the honorific nickname "The Rock Guru", which he is mostly called by his fans.

Bappa is famous for his Bengali romantic compositions, some of which have been performed with his band, Dalchhut. He is a son of a music couple, the classical maestro Ustad Barin Mazumder and Ila Mazumder.Mazumder has also composed more than a thousand musical numbers for other musicians. In recent times, Bappa has recorded and performed with Fahmida Nabi, (Ek Muthho Gaan). Along with singing, writing and composing, Bappa also has worked as an anchor, namely on The One, a musical talk show on Channel One, a channel that came to a close in 2010. His seventh solo album Din Bari Jaay was released in 1 February 2007, was a massive hit. Eighth solo album Shurjosnane Chol released in 2008, also a hit. ninth solo album Beche Thak Shobuj released in (2012). Tenth solo album Janina Kon Montorey was also a hit, released in 2014).     Sachin Dev Burman (1 October 1906 – 31 October 1975) was an Indian music director and singer. A member of the Tripura royal family, he started his career with Bengali films in 1937. Later he began composing for Hindi movies, and became one of the most successful and influential Bollywood film music composers. S D Burman composed music for over 100 movies, including Hindi and Bengali films. Apart from being a versatile composer, he also sang songs in light semi-classical and folk style of Bengal. His son Rahul Dev Burman was also a celebrated music composer for Bollywood films. S.D. Burman's compositions have been sung by leading singers of the period including Lata Mangeshkar, Mohammed Rafi, Geeta Dutt, Manna Dey, Kishore Kumar, Hemant Kumar, Asha Bhosle and Shamshad Begum. In 1997, he joined Warfaze and has appeared in the hit album "ą¦…ą¦øą¦¾ą¦®ą¦¾ą¦œą¦æą¦• (Antisocial)" (1998). He is mostly known for his slapping and tapping style in bass playing and is considered to be the most influential and the greatest bassist in the country. His style of playing bass and success in music has earned him the title "Bassbaba (Father of Bass)".

Despite widespread predictions he would win, Muhin placed second to Salma.His style of music is known as Adhunik Bangla, with the word 'adhunik' meaning 'modern' in Bengali. He was originally signed to the Sangeeta record label and released his first album, Tomar Jonno, written and produced in conjunction with Bappa Mazumder, in 2008. The album included the hit track "Ektai Prokalpo". His album Ghum Ashe Na was released in late 2011. Music videos to two of the tracks were released to promote the album, "Ghum Ashe Na" and "Shopno". In January 2017, a fifth studio album, tentatively titled Kolijai Lagerey, was announced for a February release. The album will be released through his own production company, Golpo Entertainment. The first promotional music video is being produced in conjunction with Masum Hossain of Souls.In addition to frequent live performances, Muhin has also dabbled in acting, appearing in a TV drama.In recent years, Muhin has also become a successful playback singer in Bangladeshi cinema.
