Cult classics earn their place in fans' hearts for being wholly original and often, pretty bizarre. Labyrinth takes viewers to a fantasy realm never seen before. Superbad reinvented the raunchy teen comedy. And as different as these movies may seem on the surface, one thing fans have noticed they have in common are amazing small details. Take the ludicrous Monty Python and the Holy Grail, for example, where the chain mail isn't made of metal, but knitted yarn. Fans have also picked up on the fact that in The Truman Show, Truman takes a daily dose of Vitamin D, which makes a lot of sense since he doesn't get any actual daylight. Some details even span from one cult classic to another, like how Rob Reiner's hat from This Is Spinal Tap makes an appearance in The Princess Bride.

Not that we need a reason to love these cult classics more than we already do, but this list of small details might do just that.

In the Truman Show, we see Truman taking high-dose vitamin D at breakfast time. This is to counteract the deficiency he would have because there is no real sunlight in the constructed world he inhabits.

The Computer Actually Does Cheat At Chess In 'The Thing'

    From Redditor /u/lurker1125:

In The Thing (1982), MacReady calls the chess computer a cheater and pours liquor on it. This is supposed to show what kind of person he is, but due to an editing mistake, the computer did actually make an impossible move.

The final move is said to have been made with a black rook, which is impossible. In the shot shown before this move, there is not a single position available to that chess piece that would result in an instant checkmate.
