Material quality
It uses SKD-61(Steel alloy for hot processing) and has the properties that can excellently withstand thermal impact and fatigue. Accordingly, it is used widely in hot press mold, various dies and die-block production, as well as being used broadly as hot processing tool by utilizing its wear resistance and thermal resistance properties.
(Diagram 1) illustrates the surface structure of SKD-61 following GAS softening processing after having undergone quenching and tempering (Q.T.) process. It clearly displays identifiable compound layer (6-10㎛) and thick diffused layer (0.2mm).
