Well, we long since had moved her bed back inside, of course. So, today she snuck the stick back into the house when I wasn't looking.
I look over and she's on her bed, attacking the stick. (Sorry about the blurry photo, but it was a swift and aggressive attack!)
"You are MINE, evil stick!" |
Here's some video of her trying to get up her bravery to mount another attack.
You can see at one point, she comes to me for reinforcement. And what do I do? I send her back into the fray alone! What a terrible mother!
The video makes it look like Rita won, but that's cuz I cut it off too soon. In the end, the stick won, and Rita conceded that it could have the bed:
The stick is now resting comfortably in the bed, while Rita sleeps on the floor. We've changed the rule to "No CHEWING ON sticks in the house." Sticks that are merely sleeping (and/or basking in their victory) are allowed.
Rita lets sleeping sticks lie. |
Thanks to everyone who is giving our wooly pups a home! So far we've sold all but the corgis!
Thanks to Snoopy’s Dog Blog, Alfie’s Blog, and My Brown Newfies for hosting Monday Mischief!
I shouldn't find this post funny, because of your floors, but your captions are great! Sticks are always superior in the end I guess!
ReplyDeleteHave a super week,
Pippa :)
That is one great stick! We would do the same if we could get away with it!
ReplyDeleteHaha! That video is too cute. Sorry for your floors ;)
ReplyDeleteWow that is one HUGE stick!! Great video! Happy Mischief Monday!
ReplyDeleteThat could be a new book, "Dog VS Stick, the battle continues"

That's a good rule...I don't know why I didn't think of it back in the day, Sally was a big stick chewer...and mom was too dumb to enforce that rule.
ReplyDeleteOh dear...I am not allowed to have sticks in the house. Rita is pretty sneaky getting that into her bed so quickly. Happy Monday.
ReplyDeleteOz
Mom said to tell yousa that your floors look 100 times better than hers.

Call your hardwood floors "distressed." It's a big thing in home decorating that apparently takes some time and attention to achieve. And thank Rita for her decorating skills.
ReplyDeleteLol love Rita vs. the stick!
ReplyDeleteMum and me LOLLED over the video!! We didn't mean to. Honest! *sniggers*
ReplyDeleteOh that is too funny. The stick is queen of the bed. (I really thought Rita was going to win from the video...lol.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a mighty stick!
ReplyDeleteThat is so funny!! My dogs like to attack sticks, too!! :D We don't have hardwood floors, though!!
ReplyDeletePut a tail on those corgis and then maybe they'd be more attractive ;-) LOL!

ReplyDeleteShe got herself out of a stick situation. Maybe next time she'll branch out. ;-)
ReplyDelete--Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats
That is so darn cute....she is so funny with the stick! I sure hope rustic is a selling point as well, because our wood floors have a lot of traffic on them and are in really rough shape (that's with no sticks coming in the house either...no one has really tried to bring one in lately).
ReplyDeleteWe can play with and carry sticks on walks, but they aren't allowed in our yard or in the house because we chew them into little pieces and eat them. We do enough work on the wood floors with our paws/claws.
ReplyDeleteRustic is totally cool! My hardwoods are 67 years old, and they too look rustic. Three dogs is helping them to look even more so!
ReplyDeletelol she is pretty fierce!
ReplyDeleteI think that I'd lose a battle with that big stick!
ReplyDeleteThat video made me laugh out loud. Dogs are such natural comics!
ReplyDeleteOh Rita
ReplyDeleteYou can't let the stick win and take over your bed!! If you need me to come and help just let me know!!
I hope you're having a fun day,
Your pal Snoopy :)
PS - Our wooden floors have a great rustic look that I helped out with too! :)
