Glitter Gal Lemon Fizz - Swatches and Review

How about a Glitter Gal polish for my first review of the new year?  Something outside my "comfort zone" perhaps?  Let's Do It!

Lemon Fizz is from the Popping Candy Collection and being a child of the 60s I can certainly remember popping candy! Lemon Fizz is a soft yellow with a green iridescent shimmer that was hard to capture but it really sets this one apart from any other "yellow polish" I've ever tried! There is also a surprise color-shift in the iridescent shimmer to lavender - I've included one awkward photo of that as well. I layered this over a plain light creme color so there would be no visible nail line to distract. No issues with application at all. Two light coats over the creme base and no top coat.

What do you think of this one? There are 4 polishes in the Popping Candy Collection from Glitter Gal and I'll be showing those to you over the next few days so stay tuned for Watermelon, Grape and Blueberry Soda!

Glitter Gal Lemon Fizz, as well as other Glitter Gal polishes, is available at Ninja Polish and it retails for $11.00 for a 10mL bottle. You can also follow Ninja Polish on Facebook and Twitter to stay up-to-date on re-stock information, see swatches and participate in giveaways. Also check out Glitter Gal on Facebook and Twitter!

Aren't they gorgeous? I'm sure you've ascertained by the name that the movie The Fifth Element was her inspiration for this collection.

Because of the number of photos, I've divided this collection up into two parts and first up are the blues/greens. Tomorrow I'll be showing you the oranges/reds.

So here we go!

Lilacquer Fifth Element Collection Part One:
Zorg Industries, Supreme Being, Super Green and The Diva Plavalaguna

Zorg Industries is a shimmery, jelly-like duochrome that flashes both blue and green. I am showing this one with no "underwear" with 2 medium coats and no top coat. I'd probably layer it over  a mint green or soft blue when I wear it next, but it does get opaque on it's own as you can see. The formula was good and application was easy.

Next up is Supreme Being. This one is a shimmery ice blue with a lavender shift.  I used 2 medium coats with no "underwear."  The formula on this one was very good and application was easy.

Next is GREEN! Super Green is a bright lime green shimmer that is almost like a "toxic acid waste" green in natural light, which is my favorite look of this one. There's also a duochrome shift to the green shimmer, which is a yellow/gold/peach color that you will see in the last photo. In indirect light, shade, artificial light it takes on several personalities, all green and all gorgeous. Again I used 2 coats, no "underwear" and no top coat. I probably should have used 3 coats on this one to achieve no visible nail line, but two is sufficient. Formula was good and application was good.

And last for today, my FAVORITE of the collection, The Diva Plavalaguna. This one is a rich, shimmery blue-leaning teal. Formula and application were the best of the collection and went on like a dream. Perfect in two coats. No underwear and no top coat for the photos.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Halcyon - Swatches and Review

I initially wasn't going to get any of RBL's Fan Collection but I'm ending up with three of the four. Best laid plans...Hahaha!

I really didn't think I would like Halcyon. Rather, I didn't think it would like ME. I always love greens. There are a few shades that don't really love me though. But once I got it and saw the duochrome (pink/copper) shimmer in it, I had to try it out.

Rescue Beauty Lounge Halcyon

Rescue Beauty Lounge Halcyon is a gorgeous sage green with lots of shimmer. The application was smooth and easy and fully opaque in two coats. My issue with this one is that it's not self-leveling and it's sort of a pain to apply. (And this one is still available as I type this...for NOW. But they are Limited Edition so if you want it, hurry!) It was difficult to capture the duochrome qualities of the shimmer but in person it's not difficult to see at ALL. It shifts from pink to copper!

I'd been asked several times how it compares to Zoya Gemma, so I'm including this quick shot here for you. As you can see, they're totally different.

As mentioned earlier, this is a Limited Edition polish (Two of the four in the collection have already sold out!) so if you want it, head on over to Rescue Beauty Lounge PDQ! Retail is $20.00.

What do you think? Which was your favorite of the four L.E. Fan Collection polishes?
