Wow that is amazing, I want one! However for $7K+ I might have to just keep dreaming...

That is nice, but WOAH!, what a price! I'll stick with a nice refurb. black leather for 2K.
I'll probably spend the other 5K on performance gofast parts!

There was someone here in the forum who have done one like this using "Lexan" glass a while back. He use the frame from the original Targa top and all other seals, then bolted the Lexan glass and pretty much accomplished the same thing. I can't remember his username, but he posted it a few months back. Cost him something like 300 bucks or so, which is hell of a lot better than 7k!

difference is that this appears to be latching like the factory hard top. According to Dan Petchel of CARS using the folding top latching on the "hard" top will lead to seal issues very quickly.
I would love one but that is approaching the value of my car.......

I think I will take the $7000 and add it to my targa sales proceeds and snag a 964 Targa.....just saying.

Lol, no you don't Draco.
They're out there. I had to rebuild mine as posted near the end of my "finally back in the game thread". Sure is quieter than my folding top. Last edited by timmy2; 12-14-2012 at 03:55 PM.. |

I think this is expensive for what it is, but the build quality and engineering that went into getting it made really seems top notch. I think its exactly what we all want...we just want it for sub 1k.

My used, broken Factory top was barely sub $1K....Then I spent about 6 hours of my time to repair and paint it.
Sub 1K is a nice dream though. Looking at it, I think they used the Factory top as a mold and built it from there. Very nice.

That's going to make the inside of my Targa hotter than it already is. Pass.

I agree, that things got to be hotter than a greenhouse. I've got a much better idea to let the sun in...remove the darn Targa top!
