During a recent New York screening of the new documentary on HR from Bad Brains, Finding Joseph I, the singer said that the band might be working on new music this year. "“Well what I’ve been talking to Doc and Darryl about was if they’d like to come together in the fall,” he said. The band's last record was 2012's Into the Future.

Speaking to Fact Magazine, Missy Elliot said she has enough music for a new record but don't hold your breath on its release. She said: "I got enough records to make an album, but I would never say a day or time that it would happen because those fans are brutal and they will stone me if I told a date and it didn’t drop on that date. I have learned my lesson from other artists go through that. The element of surprise works for me. It gets a little crazy out there and I don’t wanna get jumped by my fans, so I’m gonna keep it a secret. People don’t understand that things happen behind the scenes. It may be a sample clearance, or anything, so I’d rather just wait."

In May, the soundtrack to the grunge-era film, Singles, will see the soundtrack reissued. The double reissue will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the film and will contain the remastered soundtrack as well as a companion record of rarities from Pearl Jam, Chris Cornell, and songs that didn't get included in the film and original disc.

Jarvis Cocker is linking up with Chilly Gonzalez for the collaborative record called Room 29. The album is a concept record about the infamous Room 29 inside L.A.'s Chateau Marmont Hotel. The album arrives in March.

Underrated Classic: Pulp 'A Different Class'

Pulp was a band that took off in Europe during the Britpop era but never really made a mark on America. Unlike Blur, Oasis, The Verve, they didn't have any hits on this side of the pond. They were critical darlings. They had a devoted audience in the U.S. but unlike their colleagues of the British music scene from the 1990s, they didn't crack it on radio or on MTV. It is unclear why. They had all the elements of a great band -- from Jarvis Cocker's charisma and lyrics to the band's catchy songwriting, Pulp were a fantastic band. All of this culminates on their 1995 musical voyage, A Different Class. It was the fifth album from the band and has some of their most classic material like "Common People," "Disco 2000," and "Something Changed." Yet, the highest it charted in America was 34 on the "Heatseakers Chart," meaning, it was a list for "up and coming" artists. This was a band that was around since the 1980s but for American audiences, or the ones that appreciated them, they were brand new. While the band broke up by the end of the decade and then reunited in 2011, Pulp remain heroes to the British music scene. As we wait to see if they will ever get back again, here is a record worth cherishing forever.

Eagles of Death Metal, U2, Foo Fighters Open Up About Paris Attacks

Following the tragedy of November 13 in Paris, musicians like U2, Foo Fighters and Jarvis Cocker are paying tribute to the City of Lights, while Eagles of Death Metal tell the tale of tragedy.

Cocker, the former Pulp frontman lives in the city and debuted the spoken word song "November 13, 2015," on his BBC radio show. The song features the lyrics:"I was going to bed, when a friend rang and told me to turn on the TV. I was worried about my son. I rang the friends house, but his parents were not home yet. They'd gone to the theatre. I didn't want to panic them. I listened to the radio through the night. In the morning, I rang the friends house, and my son had left to catch the metro half an hour earlier. I was worried. He arrived home. We went to buy a new phone and some trainers, but all the shops were closed. I ended up buying a book about Kate Bush."

U2 are rescheduling two concerts they had in the area the weekend of the attacks. The concerts will be streamed on HBO. Bono said in a statement: "So much that was taken from Paris on the tragic night of November 13th is irreplaceable. For one night, the killers took lives, took music, took peace of mind - but they couldn’t steal the spirit of that city. It’s a spirit our band knows well and will try to serve when we return for the postponed shows on December 6th and 7th. We’re going to put on our best for Paris.”

Foo Fighters released a free EP called St. Cecilia, which fans can download on their website. In a letter to fans,  Dave Grohl said: "Now, there is a new, hopeful intention that, even in the smallest way, perhaps these songs can bring a little light into this sometimes dark world. To remind us that music is life, and that hope and healing go hand in hand with song. That much can never be taken away. To all who were affected by the atrocities in Paris, loved ones and friends, our hearts go out to you and your families. We will return and celebrate life and love with you once again someday with our music. As it should be done."

For the first time since an attack at their concert at Le Bataclan, Eagles of Death Metal are speaking out about the tragedy that killed 89 people inside the venue.

Co-founder and singer Jesse Hughes sat next to bandmate and fellow co-founder Josh Homme, who was not at the concert, and recalled the events to Shane Smith of VICE. The full interview will air next week on Vice.com.

Quick News

Courtney Love is currently on tour with Lana Del Rey, but touring with Love is Hold Steady guitarist Tad Kubler who has joined her band while his main band is on break.

Janet Jackson has announced she will release a new album this year, her first in seven years. It is rumored to be called My Conversation.

Joy Division's catalog - their two studio albums and two post-breakup compilations, will be reissued on 180 gram vinyl in July to celebrate the 35th anniversary of "Love Will Tear Us Apart."

Lamb of God will release their new album,VII: Sturm Und Drang, in July.

Also celebrating a 35th anniversary is Pulp, who spoke to NME about their very first concert which took place at Leadmill in Sheffield, England, in 1980. Jarvis Cocker said of the gig, ""It was a festival and we were the second band on in the afternoon. It was the first time we’d been on a proper stage, and when our bass player started experiencing feedback he didn’t know what to do, so he started walking towards the front of the stage and fell off it. People found us entertaining, but only because we were a bunch of mad kids who didn’t know how to play. We also made one of the best entrances of all time. There was a man across the yard with a mobile grocer’s van, and we used that to transport our equipment. We stunk of cabbage."

Noel Gallagher spoke to Noisy about that scrapped Amorphous Androgynous album that was supposed to arrive in 2011. He said, "The album got finished. We spent a lot of time working on it, but the way that they work is that they get me in and I play all day then they take it away. Then the next thing you hear, you go 'Well, that's not what I was thinking'. It became apparent that they weren't making a record for me but I was making a record for them. You know me, that's not going to fucking work. There's no bootleg because I own the master and I destroyed it. My manager's not even heard it. I wouldn't play it. It was so underwhelming to me that I never played it to anybody. I'm not going to put records out to please people and their imagination, then they hear it and go 'Actually, it's a bit shit'. I know it's shit that's why it's not coming out and that's the end of it."

Quick News

Sad news to report, documentary director Bruce Sinofsky, whose work included the Paradise Lost trilogy, Good Rockin': The Legacy of Sun Records, and Metallica: Some Kind of Monster, passed away over the weekend. He was 58. Sinofsky died in his sleep after a complication with diabetes. His work in Paradise Lost helped get the West Memphis Three out of jail and bring truth to a matter that would have otherwise gone unnoticed. To Sinofsky's family, friends, colleagues, and the West Memphis Three, our thoughts are with you.

Common and John Legend can add Oscar winner to their prefix now as the duo took home Academy Awards for their song "Glory" from Selma.

According to Oasis fan site, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, Noel Gallagher recently spoke to a German magazine and reportedly said that Oasis will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their iconic Knebworth concerts with a special DVD and album release. According the site, Gallagher said, "Just because it'll be the 20th anniversary of our Knebworth concerts in 2016. And because we're a bunch of nutters, we've completely forgotten that we had actually filmed the whole thing. With like 20 cameras and a lot of what happened on the festival ground as well. Like fans arriving, backstage sequences, interviews and flights over the area. Which we've never released. I've no idea why."

Speaking to NME at the NME Awards, Jarvis Cocker spoke about the possibility of another Pulp reunion. He said, "We're very cloak and dagger about that, well, it isn't cloak and dagger, we just don't know! We're not being mysterious, we're just not very together. Very little activity... It's like a volcano, you can think 'wow, that's dormant' and then the next day your house has gone, because it's erupted... Everything to do with Pulp or to do with me happens at such a glacial pace, that's it hard to tell whether anything's happening or not, but when it does, the whole geography of the planet is changed."

Also speaking to NME at the NME Awards was Jake Bugg. The singer / songwriter gave an update on his new music and said, "It's different, there are some darker songs, I haven't got a lot of fast ones this time but they might come later. The lyrical content's not going to be the same because I haven't experienced those things, I'd say it's a little bit darker."

Producer Joel Little has confirmed that Lorde will begin work on her sophomore album next month.

The Darkness will release their new album, Last of Our Kind in June. Take a look at the cover, below:

Bono gave fans an injury update on U2.com on New Year's Day and all was not quiet. The singer, who suffered a terrible bike accident in New York in November that left him with a broken elbow, hand, and eye socket is recovering, but wrote, "As I write this, it is not clear that I will ever play guitar again. My bandmates likely won't be too bothered by this development … The band have reminded me that neither they nor Western civilization are depending on this."

Dipset will officially reunite this year by releasing a new mixtape produced by Funkmaster Flex. No release date has been set by Flex confirmed the news on his Hot 97 radio show.

Could Dr. Dre finally be releasing Detox this year? Or even just a new album? According to AllHipHop.com's The Inside Man, he seems to have the scoop on the new Dre, saying, "You heard it here first… The word on the street is that Dr. Dre is plotting a new album in 2015, but he will make his musical reintroduction in a most creative way. The word on the streets of Los Angeles is that Dre’s new album will correspond with the release of the new NWA movie: Straight Outta Compton! I’m even hearing that it may be Detox as the soundtrack to the album. That’s just the word. Nevertheless, I love what I am hearing."

"We said we we're done and we're done," those are the shocking words coming from former R.E.M. bassist Mike Mills after he was asked by Rolling Stone if the iconic band would reunite. R.E.M. surprisingly broke up in September 2011, and Mills told Rolling Stone recently, "There were no real factors other than deciding it was time to break up. There's no drug abuse. There's no in-fighting. There's no legal problems. It was time to break up. That's never really been done before. The idea of breaking up and not reforming for a reunion tour is kind of attractive to us. I doubt you'll see us touring as R.E.M. again. On the other hand, I just played with Peter [Buck] in New York City the other night, so fun things do happen."The band just reissued their seminal album Green.

Underrated Classic - Pulp "This is Hardcore"

As Pulp may have played their final reunion gigs last month during the Coachella cruises, we look back at the Sheffield bands sixth record, This is Hardcore. Released in 1998, This is Hardcore, was the darkest, strangest, and deepest Pulp album ever made. The record, which took on everything from celebrity and fame to pornography and drugs and featured some of singer Jarvis Cocker's most personal and challenging lyrics to date. It was the era that Britpop was in full bloom and Blur and Oasis were at the height of their careers and The Verve released "Bittersweet Symphony," Pulp, who had gone strong since the 80's and one of the oldest Britpop bands, were being thrust into the international spotlight even more because of the second British invasion. With that in mind, This is Hardcore was nearly a band trying to shy away from everything to do with Britpop and still stand out on their own, unfortunately, the press would not allow it. While the album received mixed reviews on its initial release, in 2006, the band released a deluxe edition of This is Hardcore and reminded everyone, after the Britpop dust settled, this is a brilliant record. After the release of This is Hardcore, the band released We Love Life in 2001 and broke up soon afterword.
