After their celebrated performance at 2014’s J-Pop Summit, Japanese pop duo YANAKIKU will return to San Francisco this summer. This year, YANA and KIKU will become “Nakai,” the concierge of Japanese traditional inns at the festival’s “Ryokan Pavilion” at the POP TRAVEL Area inside Fort Mason Center. At the pavilion, visitors can experience the culture of Japanese traditional “ryokan,” including rooms, foods, hot-springs, views, souvenirs. Guests are invited to wear yukata and geta (Japanese kimono robes and wooden sandals) and enjoy a virtual tour which recreates ryokan stays through a combination of HD video projection and life-sized scale model rooms.

Last week, YANAKIKU released a new music video for “Guru Guru Choice”, from their first full album YANAKIKU NO ENBAN. The video features the girls as contestants on a wild game show hosted by Japanese comedian King of Comedy Takahashi, battling dancing sushi and giggling their way through spinning games. Known for their kimono cosplay fashion, YANA and KIKU also premiered new outfits for the video.

J-Pop kimono-cosplay vocal unit YANAKIKU released their self-designed set of LINE stickers this week for the popular international messaging app. The sticker set focuses on the colorful personalities and food obsessions of members YANA and KIKU, including a special sticker for the group's favorite Japanese food (and frequent accidental name substitute) yakiniku.

J-Pop female vocal duo YANAKIKU made their USA debut at San Francisco's J-Pop Summit last weekend, giving American fans their first opportunity to see YANAKIKU's high-energy performance and comedic MC. The duo gave a special name to the packed audience in San Francisco's Japan Town, proclaiming "You are the lettuce, we are the meat!" before beginning their live set which included recent releases "FUJIYAMA DISCO" and an English version of their unreleased song "Ninja Iroha".

Vocalists YANA and KIKU spoke in frequent English to the audience, giving a positive message that "Music is stronger than our differences," a statement with special meaning to YANA as a representative of San Francisco's sister city Osaka.

In addition to their live performances, YANAKIKU served as judges for J-Pop Summit's cosplay and idol performer contests, as well as taking photos with fans and giving KIMOCOS (Kimono Cosplay) and Shuji calligraphy demonstrations at their booth.

YANAKIKU's new song "Orihime" was released July 2 on iTunes and Spotify worldwide. They will follow their J-Pop Summit performance with a return engagement at London's Hyper Japan Festival July 25-27.

J-Pop female vocal duo YANAKIKU will make their American debut at San Francisco's J-Pop Summit on July 19. The Kimono Cosplay singers will perform on the Pagoda Main Stage in Japan Town and participate in the festival's Cosplay Masquerade in addition to meet and greet sessions and cosplay demonstrations at their booth all weekend long.

YANAKIKU joins an all-star lineup of great Japanese music artists at this year's J-Pop Summit, including Tokyo Girls' Style, May'n, and Pinky Doodle Poodle.

In April of this year, YANAKIKU's new song "FUJIYAMA DISCO" was released on iTunes in 109 countries, plus online services Amazon MP3, Recochoku.jp, dwaongo.jp, music.jp, Spotify, XBox music and FaRao. The music video for "FUJIYAMA DISCO" scored over 60,000 views in its first month on YouTube.

Their latest song "Paku Paku Kingyo" was released last week, coupled with a playful music video portraying YANAKIKU as two golden fish singing about their secret crush.

J-Pop female vocal duo YANAKIKU's new song "FUJIAYAMA DISCO" is set for digital release on May 7, 2014. The rising star Kimo-Cos (kimono cosplay) singer/songwriters made the announcement during their April 19 live show at Ikebukuro mismatch to the excitement of their fans.

Earlier this month, YANAKIKU released the eye-popping, colorful music video for "FIJUYAMA DISCO", which has already scored nearly 50,000 views. YANAKIKU wrote the song to inspire appreciation of Mount Fuji's beauty, hoping fans will visit Japan to see Fujiyama for themselves.

J-Pop female vocal duo YANAKIKU previewed several new songs during their one-man live show at Harajuku's Astro Hall on December 23, 2013, including "Ninja Iroha," "Game Controller," and a new English version of the upcoming release "Fuijyama Disco". The rising star KIMOCOS (Kimono Cosplay) performers displayed a variety of Harajuku-inspired fashion, including outfits combining the images of Mount Fuji and disco balls.

YANAKIKU has built up a strong following among Japanese music and fashion fans this year after appearances at Hyper Japan (London) and TIFFCOM 2013 (Japan). They recently performed at Tokyo Dome's Furusato Matsuri on January 13, and will follow up with a special "New Year Event with Japanese Artists 2014" live show in Korea on January 17.

J-Pop vocal and KIMOCOS ("Kimono Cosplay") performance group YANAKIKU opened their official Facebook page this month, following their performances for international audiences at Hyper Japan in London this summer and the Tokyo International Music Market in October.
