Original Grocery Tenant: ShopRite Address: 242 Lincoln Blvd, Middlesex, NJ Opened:  1968 Closed:  1984 Later Tenants:  Pathmark (1984-2015) > Price Saver Fresh Marketplace (April 2019-September 2019) > SuperFresh (coming soon) Photographed:  January 10, 2023 Just a quick revisit at the Price Saver Fresh Marketplace, previously Pathmark and ShopRite, in Middlesex, NJ. The space's history has been well-documented here on the blog , and we do have definitive confirmation that the space is set to become a SuperFresh. The SuperFresh/Food World 2023 calendar, which they were giving out at the Belleville location, has the locations listed on the back and this store was on it listed as opening 2023. Worth noting, though, that Roselle is not listed on that same list -- and, for one reason or another, the December 2023 calendar page says Wishing All Food Bazaar Customers a Merry Christmas. Original Tenant: Pathmark Address: 500 Lincoln Hwy, Fairless Hills, PA Opened:  1994 Closed:  2015 Later Tenants:  Funzilla Photographed:  January 6, 2020 We arrive at the former Fairless Hills Pathmark, another 1990s build store of roughly 60,000 square feet. Pathmark moved from an original Supermarkets General-owned ShopRite that converted to Pathmark in 1968 across the parking lot in 1994. These days, I believe the store has been subdivided with the bulk going to Funzilla, an indoor playground trampoline thingy. As we see, the facade has not been renovated in any way other than paint and new signage. Up next we're heading to the south a little bit to go over to Bristol, right on the river. Original Tenant: ShopRite Address: 4355 US-130, Edgewater Park, NJ Opened:  1960s Closed:  1968 Later Tenants:  Pathmark (1968-2013) Photographed:  January 2021 Just across route 130 from yesterday's ACME is this former Pathmark, which closed in 2013 just before ACME completed its renovation. For various reasons, the space remains vacant today and in basically the same condition as when Acme Style visited back in 2014. This store was built in the 1960s as a Supermarkets General-owned ShopRite, which converted to Pathmark in 1968. The store at its closing was 62,000 square feet, or just slightly larger than the ACME, but appears to be constructed around an original building of about 28,000 square feet. Original Tenant: Pathmark Address: 757 NJ-15, Woodport, Jefferson, NJ Opened:  by 1970 Closed:  2015 Later Tenants:  Fresh Emporium Food Market / Fresh Imperium Food Market (2016-2017) Photographed:  September 2016 & May 2020 Crash and burn, anyone? After Pathmark closed here following decades of successful business, Fresh Emporium opened up in 2016, closing the following year -- but not before Key Food, owners of The Food Emporium banner, sued. Tour Fresh Emporium here . Fresh Emporium then became Fresh Imperium... I thought I had already posted these pictures, from September 2016, but apparently I hadn't. If you zoom in, you can see that there was no real sign change, just a new banner for the word Imperium. So that was back in 2016 when the store was still in business. The real news here is that all indications point to this property being successfully sold to SuperFresh.
