Where is Mariuca? **

Hi everyone! I am currently on vacation and as promised at my main blog, I am having a second "Where is Mariuca?" contest here at MPG. To WIN a souvenir from my vacation, all you have to do is guess the location I'll be heading to during the second half of my trip.

FYI, I've never been to this particular country but B has during his uni days. Located in North-West Europe, this country is known for its Tulips, clogs, cheese and windmills. We are headed for the capital, which is also the largest city of this country and draws more than 3.66 million international visitors annually. Among others, attractions here include the historic canals, the Red Light District, Anne Frank House and the infamous "coffee shops" only found here.

Okay, I've given you more than enough hints to go by so it's time to start guessing my location; good luck everybody!

I am officially eliminated from Blog Idol 2010!

Of course I'm a little sad; being on Blog Idol was so much fun and exciting. I made a lot of new friends and since I love music, it was definitely one of the most memorable contests I've joined in a long while!

I'd like to take this post to say THANK YOU to ALL my loyal voters who voted for MPG and my songs every round until I was eliminated last week. My appreciation also goes out to BlueDreamer for organizing such a brilliant contest! It was indeed an honour competing in this prestigious contest and I am thrilled to have finished in the Top 3 and as the last girl standing too!

MM - Blog Idol Semi-Final - Classic Song **

Thanks to your many votes last week, MPG is still in the running to be crowned as this year's Blog Idol! Love you guys for voting and THANK YOU for taking me this far on my Blog Idol stint. Only two more rounds before the contest ends so wish me luck!

This week carries a special theme of Classic favourites and it is now down to the 3 remaining Blog Idol contestants. This song also hails from my favourite 80s genre by the way.

MM - Blog Idol Week 7 - Country **

Last girl standing, that's ME!

Good morning folks! We're going Country this week on Blog Idol and guess what? After No Air clinching the Top Spot for last week's Duet Songs Category (THANK YOU VERY MUCH VOTERS!), I am now the last female contestant on Blog Idol! I am excited and of course I am nervous and if you're in my shoes right now, you'd probably feel the same way!

It has been a thrilling, heart-stopping time on Blog Idol and I've truly enjoyed being a part of this contest for the past 6 weeks. And now, we're down to the Top 4 with me and MPG as the final female contestant! How cool is that?

This Country Week week on Blog Idol, I am going with a classic favourite from the 90s; the beautiful romantic number How Do I Live from LeAnn Rimes! Written by Diane Warren back in 1997, this song was released originally by LeAnn Rimes and later by Trisha Yearwood. The latter was the version featured in the blockbuster movie Con Air. Do you remember that movie? And did you fall in love with this song all over again when you watched Con Air? Well, I did and it has remained as one of my all-time favourite country numbers to date.

When this song first came on air, I fell in love with it at first listen! I could not stop listening, which is why I am going with No Air from Jordin Sparks & Chris Brown as my selected Blog Idol song for Week 6 - Duet Songs!

That's right, MPG made it to Week 6 of Blog Idol and it's all thanks to your votes for Chris Brown's Forever last week! That awesome tune made it to the Top 3 so a huge round of applause and much love for my voters and I am hoping for a repeat performance this round with No Air.
