CAS MONDAY: 'Tis the Season, Deer!...

It was an exciting weekend for me! Friday the countertops for my new Stampin' Studio were delivered yet again and they were finally correct! Just in time, too, since my first in a series of three Christmas Stamp-a-Stack classes was Saturday (so FUN). I spent much of my weekend unpacking things and organizing the desk and countertop areas. I am loving the Merry Little Christmas Designer Series Paper! I find the Old Olive and Basic Black color combination so striking! I know it's not for everyone, but I am liking the change-up, so I let it guide me with this card!

I decided this pattern called for a very simple nature-inspired card, so I used the trees and deer from Card Front Builder Thinlits. The sentiment is from the Christmas Pines set in the Annual Catalog. The ribbon is the yummy shimmer ribbon, but my photo is not picking up it's beautiful glitter look. Enjoy!

GOLDEN SNOWFLAKE CAS CARD...

Just back from a FABULOUS weekend with my family! We went to Carter Mountain Orchard for apple picking and everything apple plus Bold Rock tasting. The apple cider donuts and cookies were divine! Definitely a cheat day for me - LOL! That evening we went to a pretty little pedestrian mall with a beautiful cobble stone walkway lined with shops and restaurants in downtown Charlottesville. They just happened to be having a Trick or Treat event there for children and the families that came in group costumes were AMAZING! So much fun. I miss those days with my girls!

If you ever are in the area, it is definitely worth the visit! Just look at this view behind my girls and I. Those are vineyards right behind us and then the orchard beyond that.

It was strange to transition from my fall fun-filled weekend to Christmas cards, but I just had to use my favorite Foil Snowflakes again. They sure are getting a lot of play here in my studio! For this card, I let this golden baby and the gorgeous Year of Cheer Specialty Paper take center stage. Each layer is popped up with Dimensionals and the sentiment is embossed. CAS MONDAY: Merry & Bright Card...

It's been a frustrating time in the Stampin' Studio this past week! The new countertops arrived and were completely wrong. They did the wrong edge on them and the edges didn't even match each other! Then the custom-order power roller shade and valance (big splurge!) arrived and it was also wrong! Completely mismatched. Now we have to wait for them both to be done over, which is really delaying the completion of my studio and resumption of my classes! *sniff* Well, enough of my pity party! Today I am going to pick up the granite piece for my Parisian chest that will serve as the Big Shot/Embossing Center. I am holding out hope that it will be perfect, since this is the only really unique piece of furniture in the studio and finished by me!

Since it's Monday, I have another CAS card to share with you. I made a simplified version of this card in August for a card swap with my downline group. For today's version, I did add a second Foil Snowflake and I accordion folded each "petal" of the snowflake to give it some dimension. Do not use a bone folder to fold the snowflake as it is easy to tear it with the intricate cut-outs. Just use your fingers carefully. Each layer of the snowflakes and the center medallion piece are raised on Stampin' Dimensionals to give it some POP! Enjoy!

HOLIDAY MUSIC FOR THE SOUL...

Working hard on the new Stampin' Studio! The old living room is almost cleared out now. I didn't think it would take so long to get it all cleared out, but there was a lot of stuff in there! We are prepping it for painting soon. So excited to get one step closer to my new studio!

Today, I have a card to share that I did for a downline swap this past weekend. It features the Musical Season Bundle. I love music, so this is one of my favorite sets! Especially the French Horn! The sentiment piece and the design on the French Horn are both embossed in gold. Enjoy!
