February 8th - Home sick yet again. This time it is an eye infection. The tear duct will not drain. I should have taken a photo of that. It is gross. My husband was sweet enough to take me to doctor so now I am on meds. The photo is boring but the product is not. It is an electric toothbrush that I ordered from Amazon for my daughter. It is amazing. Took this photo for my review. Do you review everything you get on Amazon? I try to. Great price and I love that it has a timer on it. She is brushing for 2 minutes now which is what her dentist told her to do. To Order
February 9th - My crazy daughter loves Snapchat.
February 10th - A new kitten at the shelter and my daughter. Look at that little wittle face.

Photo Challenge - Day 22 - Day 28
Day 22 - The view from my deck is incredible with that winter sky. There is something about winter sunsets.
Day 23 - Luna wondering why I am home today. My son was sick so...sick day. He slept Luna stared at me on my computer.
Day 24 - Does everyone's cat sleep on the table? I find it so strange. My first cat never did this. Luna is always on the table. So annoying but who could wake that sweet face.
Day 26 - We have been stuffing some envelopes for a fundraiser for animal shelter we got Luna from. Luna really really wanted to be part of this endeavor.
Day 27 - The first night out in a long long time. Work Holiday Party at the end of January is perfect. Far enough away from the holidays to feel like a night out without the stress of the holidays and all you have to get done. Had a good time with my from Clary. We were friends first now co-workers. It is a good thing to have a long time friend at your newish job. I am there since September 2016.
Day 28 - Watching Season 1 of Steven Universe on DVD with my favorite girl!

Snowy Landscape - Day 2 of 365 Photo Challenge
My ride to and from work is one of the things I love about my life. It is one of my favorite roads. There are beautiful colonial homes, old farm houses, silios, dirt roads, the occasional deer, cows and some new mini mansion constuction. It is an absolutely gorgeous ride and I am so thankful I am able to drive it every day.
Isn’t it stunning? What is your ride like?

Kids Art Makes Me Smile
If you are like me you love when the kids come home with art projects. I can do without the thousands of worksheets that they bring home and head right for the trash but throwing out any art work is so much harder.
Here are a few pictures that have made their way into their portfolio while others we took photos of so we could toss them.

Blessings Of A Daughter
When I was a little girl who lost her mother the only thing I wanted more than anything was to one day have a daughter. My first baby was an adorable, round baby boy who made me so happy and healed so much of my sadness. Being his mother was/is the most important thing to me. I loved being a mom! I knew that was exactly why I was here, so be his mommy. My son and I have a wonderfully loving relationship but it is as most parent/child relationships different. We love them equally but differently. Having a girl was something I hoped for but if it never happened I was OK with two boys but the good Lord saw fit for me to have a girl. A testing, crazy, funny girl who tries my patience and makes me angrier than anyone ever has in my life. I adore her with every cell in my body and even when she makes me crazy, I want nothing more than to be with her and my handsome.
Goddess and I spent A LOT of time together. She is my shadow and I love it. She goes through my things often but this weekend I took some photos and talked to her more about the jewelry pieces that she likes to play with so much. None of the pieces are worth anything but they mean something to me and Goddess feels like they are treasure. The pieces are mine, some my two Grandmothers, two Great Grandmothers and some my Moms. So when Goddess is looking through the "treasure" she is sifting through four generations of jewelry and it makes me so happy. It is exactly what I thought of when I wished for a daughter.
This time that we went through them I gave her some pieces and she was thrilled. Most were earrings from way back when that are small enough for her to wear along with some necklaces that are just no longer me.
I knew there was a reason I held onto so many of my younger pieces.
Look at all that blue & red jewelry!

Easter Pictures and Yes, I Know It is June!
But I have not had time. I do run a community news site and all! Life is busy now if I were only making minimum wage I would be rich with all the hours I put in. I can dream can't I?!
Well, anyway...Easter 2012.
This year the baskets contained Squinkies, Littest Pet Shops, Fur Real Bunnies, Kites, Orbeez, and more. Not much candy. Handsome doesn't really eat much.
Handsome was up by 5:00 a.m. and as usual had to wait for the whole house to wake before he could look in his basket. When I finally got up at 6:30, he wished me a Happy Easter and told me he was waiting forever.
Goddess finally got up at 7:30 thank goodness because as patient as he was, he was starting to touch his basket. I can't say I blame him.
When she woke she walked directly to the baskets but we had to wait for Teach! Eventually I told them to go right ahead. How much can kids be expected to wait when things are staring them right in the face?
I love watching them go through their baskets and showing the other what they received. Wonder how long I have before, well, you know.....in case they ever read this...Mommy Loves You!
The bunnies are from their Aunt in California. The are cute. You pet them and they hop. Right now, the pets that don't require food and care are perfect for us.
After breakfast they played with their gifts and we eventually headed to my mother-in-laws, as we do every Easter. We don't see them as much as I would like. The kids love going there but I think my in-laws after raising two of my four nieces are kid'ed out. They are only in the states 6 months of the year and it happens to be while the kids are in school so we only have the weekends. They never call to invite and when I invited this way, my mother-in-law says no. Umm...oh well. It is what it is. We stopped inviting, maybe this year we will try again.
It is usually inevitable that the kids and the husband will head out to the back yard. This is the yard that my husband played in when he was a kid which makes it even sweeter that they go out together. It is a beautiful view of the New York City Skyline and my Father-in-Law asked that I get some photos of the Freedom Towers.
I love how small Goddess looks walking next to her daddy!
Handsome wasn't sure if he wanted to leave the yard to go to the park. There was a discussion. He left for about 5 minutes and then they came back. I guess swings and slides aren't as cool as running through their Abuela's yard.

1st Day of School Photos
We are in our 3rd day of School. It has taken a bit to get used to. The kids are gone from 8:24 because they want to take the bus until 3:54 when I get them from the bus stop. I loved driving them in because it gave me extra time with them but they loved it on Tuesday and said it was the best part of their day. Ok, so I will let them take it.
On Tuesday, their official first day, the bus picked them up and Teach and I headed to the school. We arrived before them. Our plan was to take photos of them getting off the bus and their new classrooms. Unfortunately because of the rain, the outside photos would have to wait. We waited, and waited, and waited. The other kids were ushered from the gym to their appropriate classes and mine were still not there. I was second guessing the whole bus thing. Were they OK? They finally arrived 12 minutes late and were quickly sent to their already started classrooms. It seemed so disorganized and I left them wishing I could take them home with me because I wasn't sure how they were doing. They were obviously fine.
They have come home with smiles so far (it is only 3 day) and I couldn't be happier.

Goddess and Handsome Experience Their First Celebrity Moment
If you live close to a town where a movie is being shot, you tend to drive by it more often. Summer at Dog Dave's starring Morgan Freeman and Virginia Madsen and director by Rob Reiner was wrapping up in a local community near me so, the kids and I featured out to see what was happening. Ok, I coerced them into coming by promising ice cream.
We got out of the car with them complaining and saying they didn't want to be there. I told them I understood and listened patiently while I snapped with my camera until they shouted "rolling" (only about 3 minutes) than I put my hands over their mouths. 15 minutes into us standing there and the kids asking to leave. Two young girls walked across the street. I knew who it was instantly. Madeline (Maddy) Carroll, who starred in Flipped (which I reviewed last year and we just saw her in Mr. Poppers Penguins but some may know her from The Santa Claus 3 or The Spy Next Door. The other girl who I didn't know is Emma Fuhrmann. She is a new actress whose blues eyes are mesmerizing. She was very sweet.
Maddy walked over to our side where there were a bunch of children. She smiled and waved to everyone as if she knew us. She caught everyone's eye saying "hello," signing autographs for some young fans. We shook hands as she introduced herself. She was so sweet and took a picture with everyone I threw at her. Her sweet, honest personality along with Emma Fuhrmann who was very polite and shook my hand and also took a photo with young fans was quite different from the young stars you hear about in the tabloids.
Here are some photos from yesterday. I couldn't be happier.

My Week in Pictures - August 10 - August 17
August 10, 2008 - I took this picture of a some kind of huge bee. We had zipped up the gazebo when we spotted him buzzing around. He was the size of a small hummingbird. After looking at him lying on the table in some sort of spasms I may never kill another bug in my life. Look at those eyes.
August 11, 2008 - My son is so happy in this picture. We had been holding hands and spinning. He had crayons in his hand saying they were like a rainbow. I snapped this just as I let go of him while spinning.
For the rest of the story come over here.
