closing up shop

hi friends,

just a quick note to let you know that i will be closing up my ♥elycia shop for a little while. i have a few big projects that i am working on and i also want to reevaluate my shop. it will be a temporary hiatus but if there is anything you just have to purchase do it before friday!

Edit *just to clarify...my blog will stay as active as ever! i am not taking a break from that :)*

something exciting...

i am in an Ohio newspaper! Columbus Alive. does anyone get it? my moustache headband is in the style section...apparently on the cover of the style section! eeks!

i would love, love, love it if someone could take a photo of it and send it to me...or even better...send me the paper! i might even send you something awesome in return :)

Movember

hello!

has anyone heard of Movember? guys grow moustaches during November to raise awareness/money for prostate cancer research.

I have decided to get a bit involved...unfortunately (actually, probably fortunately) i am not able to grow a moustache. So...for the month of November I will be donating a portion of the sales from my Headband Incognito Moustache Headbands to Prostate Cancer Canada.

If you have been thinking about getting yourself or someone just as cool as you a moustache headband, November is definitely the right time :) I have some in stock right now and I hope to do a little moustache update next week. Of course, there are always the Custom Headband Incognitos v.1 and v.2.

also...ivan is growing a moustache, so i will keep you updated on its progress.

kind of late notice...but i will be updating my etsy shop sometime tomorrow! I plan on having some moustaches (of course) as well as some fall and halloween items that i'm really excited about! stop by sometime in the afternoon if you want to see my new goodies :)

Glen Ridge Artisan Show

did everyone have a good weekend? yesterday was my show in glenridge...i though i would share a few photos :)

the update is up. thanks so much to everyone for their nice comments. i'm very excited about the dresses and scarves! and i made some cute tags. they might be my favourite part!

 i drew 3 different retro themed girls. i'm thinking of doing a 'make your own tags' tutorial sometime soon.

this past weekend i participated in my last outdoor market for the summer. 

 

i was very bright as you can see! my table wasn't as fully loaded as usual. a lot of my displays are not wind friendly so i'm nervous to put them up.

it wasn't super busy but there was a caribana parade going down james street during the market.

 

 

it was cool to watch. all of those float things are handmade :) some of them were crazy!

i'm really really excited about the next few markets i'll be in. i'm planning on making some all new products for them :) if you live in the hamilton/niagara area you should come by!

i'm so super excited for my update tomorrow! i had a lot of fun taking photos of everything and i can't wait to post it all! if you want to see everything check my etsy around 10 am EST tomorrow!

for now, i though i would share something super yummy that i have been eating lots of lately :)

i love fruit! the raspberries are from the bush in our backyard that we have had forever! my mom told me they originally came from her friend's mom's garden. wow.
hiding underneath all the fruit is some kind of grain. my favourites are millet (super healthy), quinoa (a complete protein) or red river cereal. soooo yummy!

yesterday

hi! i hope everyone had a great weekend! i had the hamilton makers' market on saturday. it was pretty fun but the turnout was a little low...i think people were afraid of the potential thunder storms! we didn't get rain but it was soooo windy! for my next outdoor show i need wind-proof displays. :) i still had a good time though! i got to meet this lovely lady! here's a photo of my table...

after the show and delicious indian lunch i came home to a great surprise...my headband incognito was featured on etsy finds! i was very excited.

hi!

to prepare for my update tonight i made myself some 'helpers'.

meet Moxie, the mascot for the 'Incognito' accessories. Moxie is very sneaky and loves spying on people. She uses the 'Headband Incognito' as a disguise for her most dangerous missions like stalking the cute boy who lives down the street and...other important stuff.
