Here I am answering some of the questions you guys asked me a few weeks ago. I kept it to 5 so that the video wouldn't get too long.

Here I am with a late in the day post to answer a bunch of wedding related questions. As you can see, I filmed some of this with light pink hair and some with bright pink! Isn't that fun? Blog Questions - Hair

Hi!

You guys asked me a lot of great questions and I have kind of been answering them in categories to keep myself more organized. (yes it helps) Today I have the hair questions ready for you. Please excuse me if I 1. say your name wrong (I know what that's lilke, trust me) or 2. accidentally call you by the wrong name if I am answering 2 of your questions in a row...I may have done that.  So, without further ado...take it away video elycia from 1 week ago who still has light pink hair!

about me > my rings

I really like jewelry but I am usually not super adventurous with different pieces. I think it is mostly because I am forgetful. Pieces of jewelry that don't need to be taken off are the ones that I end up wearing every single day until they become a permanent fixture on my body. This happens most often with rings. Every once in a while I will add an extra ring or two for fun, but i have 4 rings that I have worn every single day since I got each of them. I thought it would be fun to tell you a little bit about them.

- Ring 1 -
This is my engineering ring. As you may know, I went to University for Chemical Engineering, and although I do not work as an engineer, I wear my ring everyday. The engineering 'Iron Ring' is meant to be worn on the pinky finger of your 'working hand' as a reminder to live by a high standard of professional conduct. You can read more about the Iron Ring here. When an engineering student graduates, they attend a secret (yes secret!) ceremony where we are given our rings. Sorry, I am sworn to secrecy about the ceremony! Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that the tradition of the Iron Ring does not exist for engineers in the United States (there may be a few places in the States that do it though).  Any other engineers out there?

- Ring 2 -
This is my Grandmother's wedding band (my Dad's Mother). She passed away back in 2005 and I believe it was my Aunts who decided that it would be nice for me to have this ring. It is a thin white gold band with little notches on it and I love it. I think of my Grandma when I see it. My Grandma Watson was a very crafty and thrifty lady. I really should put together some stories about her, I think a lot of you would appreciate and relate to a lot of the things she did!

- Rings 3 & 4 -
My engagement ring and wedding band! These are 2 very special rings that I plan on wearing everyday for the rest of my life. They remind me of the commitment I made to Ivan and make me think about how much I love him (too sappy?). I am so happy that he is my husband!

So there! Now you know a little bit more about what is going on on my fingers. ;)

Hi friends!

Since the wedding and honeymoon (thank you for all your super sweet comments on the photos!) I have been feeling a smidge behind in the blog world. I noticed quite a few new faces showing up in the comments while I was away and I thought maybe now would be a good time for a little bit of Q & A as well as an opportunity to get to know any new readers.

So, if you are new around here (or just feel like saying hello) and would like to introduce yourself or ask me a question now is the time! In the comments you can ask me anything you might be wondering (as long as it is appropriate of course, haha) and/or say hello and tell me something about yourself!

After my 28 things posts can you believe that there are still things about me that you don't know? (Actually, that makes sense, there aren't just 28 things that make me me). I have seen this ABC game on a couple people's blogs and I thought it would be fun to fill out!

A. Age: 28
B. Bed size: Double. Boo! It is my dream to have a king-sized bed.
C. Chore that you hate: All of them. I probably hate dishes the most though. Especially if someone leaves dirty dishes sitting in water all day and then the water gets all cold and slimy. YUCK!
D. Dogs: I had a rottweiler growing up. Her name was Chance.
E. Essential start to your day: Exercise and a smoothie.
F. Favourite color: Always changing.
G. Gold or Silver: Silver
H. Height: 5'6"-5'7" (somewhere in between)
I. Instruments you play: Piano, drums, guitar, bass, trumpet, tons of percussion instruments (but I haven't played them since highschool)
J. Job title: Professional Bum
K. Kids: Ivan and I talk about having kid one day. Yes I meant to type kid. ;)
L. Live: Forever. Ok, that's probably not the answer this question was looking for. Southern Ontario.
M. Mother's name: Cathleen
N. Nicknames: Some friends call me aleash, leasha, leash. One calls me e-unit (hehe). Ivan calls me Lisa. Ivan's mom and her husband call me Noelle.
O. Overnight hospital stays: A couple that I can remember.
P. Pet peeve: People who work at Subway who are bad at making subs! I don't know why this drives me so crazy, haha. Loud cars/motorcycles. Being told to do things. I guess I have a lot of pet peeves!
Q. Quote from a movie: "'Just order a large Farva.' 'I don't want a large Farva, I want a GD litre of cola!'"
R. Right or left handed: Right
S. Siblings: None!
T. Time you wake up: Around 6:30 on weekdays.
U. Underwear: Whatever my mom buys me for Christmas, haha!

W. What makes you run late: Procrastinating
X. X-Rays you've had: teeth, arm i think...i can't really remember.
Y. Yummy food that you make: Guacamole! And sushi, although it is pretty time consuming so I don't make it often. Oh, and any vegan baked goods!
Z. Zoo animal: Can I say all of them for now? Next time I'm at the zoo I'll choose a favourite ;)

I know that some of the things I shared were kind of weird but I really think it is these little quirks that make people special and interesting. I actually probably hate the word more. Yuck!!

19. I play the drums...on a sparkly purple drum set. I'll show you a photo one day.

20. I often don't buy things because I think to myself "I could make that". Whether or not I end up actually making it is another story.

21. I have two large puppets. Their names are Ricky and Lucy. Sometimes I think I am really funny and I make them do silly things like pick their noses.

22. With a lot of things I am either a perfectionist or a total disaster. There is kind of no middle ground.

23. I am a 'jack of all trades', I sometimes wish that I had one thing I am really good at.

24. I would love to be in a sitcom. I think I should be the new Michael Scott on the office. Only problem is...I am not a good actor.

Mine is the purple one. Ivan and I got these toothbrushes on the exact same day.

26. I can play the trumpet. I learned in high school and about a year ago we bought a used one. I'm not as good as I used to be but it's still fun!

27, I'm sure I have mentioned this before, but I'm a total hoarder. The new part is that I have a plan to make my hoarded items more organized so that I can call them collections. Good plan?

No it doesn't hurt, I just like making weird faces.

15. Sometimes I am really bad at following through with things. Case in point...these 28 things! I had great plans to do an awesome photo for each one but sometimes things get a little busy. I'm sure everyone can relate to this!

16. As much as I love animals I can't watch movies that are heavily based on animals because I get too upset if they die. Spoiler alert: 'I am Legend' made me sob. Not just during that one part either...but for the whole rest of the movie anytime I thought about it. I'm so wimpy!!

17. I am famously bad at dealing with change. Before when my mom was thinking of moving, everyone in my family that she mentioned it to responded with "Have you told elycia? Is she ok with this?" I feel like over the years I have become better at dealing but I have earned myself quite a reputation!

As a kid I was a major nail biter. I actually remember making the decision to start biting my nails. I read the book 'The Berenstain Bears and the Bad Habit' and decided that I needed a bad habit. I was a weird kid. I have been an on and off nail biter ever since. I think it's totally gross but sometimes I just can't keep my nails out of my mouth! Normally now I just kind of chew on the edges once in a while instead of actually biting them. I usually don't even notice I'm doing it!

Any nail biters out there? Fellow nail chewers?

Yes I have a preference for how toilet paper is hung on the holder. A weird quirk, I know. And be warned...if I use your bathroom and the roll is the "wrong" way, I will probably flip it. Sorry!

Is toilet paper placement something that has ever crossed your mind? Do you have a preference?

When I did the handwriting game I choose to show you my "neat" writing. Since posting that I have noticed that I have actually been using my "messy" writing a lot more often. I never used to use cursive/handwriting but now I find it so much quicker and accidentally end up using it almost all the time when making notes for myself.  How about you?

The hotter the better. Depending on the food, my two favourite ways to spice things up are cayenne pepper and red pepper flakes. A little hot sauce never hurt anyone either.

I really like Arnold Schwarzenegger movies and I quote them often. I prefer the comedies over the action movies...but really, they are all kind of comedies. Kindergarten cop is my favourite.

PS. You guys may not have noticed but I have been MIA this week. I had the flu or something and it was awful! I forgot how strange it feels to have a fever! Anyways, I am feeling better now and will get back to posting something other than these 28 things posts. I'm glad you guys are enjoying them!
