AI Revolutionizing the World of Work: What LinkedIn is Discovering

It’s no secret that AI is the single biggest force shaping the job market this decade. But how is it shaping the future of work? And how much?

AI is undeniably a potent force revolutionizing the job market of this decade. To understand its magnitude and future implications, LinkedIn conducted a comprehensive study, "AI at Work," drawing insights from various surveys and leveraging its internal data.

Some of the more significant conclusions from the report are:

- Since November 2022, there has been a 21-fold increase in global English-language job postings that cite "GPT" or "ChatGPT".

- Terms such as "AI" and "ChatGPT" are being included in LinkedIn profiles at a soaring monthly rate of 75% starting from January.

- Almost half of the US executives, or 47%, hold the view that AI implementation will augment productivity, with 44% intending to expand their organization's reliance on AI within the forthcoming year.

- The majority of people surveyed expressed their comfort in deploying AI for administrative (76%), analytical (79%), and even creative tasks (73%).

- People anticipate using AI for efficient information retrieval (86%), summarizing meetings and outlining action items (80%), and managing daily activities (77%).

LinkedIn is also striving to infuse AI into its platform. The professional networking giant is experimenting with AI-driven messaging and job descriptions and is potentially developing an AI-based professional coach.
