💬 “For me, justice has been an impetus to precisely reach the most vulnerable populations, those most in need, and those who do not truly receive justice.” ⚖️ In our recent #WhatDoesJusticeMean interview, the Director General of Refugiados Unidos Lublanc Prieto Dávila shares how she started working at the intersection of #justice and #displacement. 💼 Her main work is to support the migrant and #ForciblyDisplaced populations in securing #AccessToJustice (A2J) in #Colombia 🇨🇴. 📜 #A2J is important for these communities because it ensures they can access their rights, despite facing numerous barriers. 💡 Learn more about her #JusticeJourney and Refugiados Unidos’ work: 1️⃣ https://lnkd.in/ekV-EjSm 2️⃣ https://lnkd.in/g378Dqgc #SDG16Plus #PeopleCenteredJustice #JusticeForAll

🌟🔍 Wrapping up reflections on yesterday's workshop for the #GlobalRefugeeForum2023 – Equity Learning Journeys are essential when organizations pursue wrong battles to reach #meaningfulrefugeeparticipation such as refugee's impartiality, identity policing, and when organizations confuse allies' roles and responsibilities. Equity Learning Journeys are the key to dismantling tokenism and fostering accountability to the #meaningfulparticipation agenda. Let's commit to internal reflection along with people of forced displacement to bring about meaningful participation and change. #RefugeeLeadership #ByRefugees

In light of the recent attacks on refugee and asylum-seeking families and children in the UK, we must reaffirm our commitment to an inclusive and diverse society that upholds human rights for all. Seeking asylum is a human right. Children and families affected by climate, crisis and conflict have the right to seek safety in the UK. As professionals and citizens, we have a collective responsibility to stand in solidarity with vulnerable populations, actively combat misinformation and dispel myths about displaced people, share accurate information to foster understanding and empathy and be vocal allies in our workplaces and communities. Diversity strengthens our society and economy. By supporting refugees and asylum-seekers, we not only fulfil our moral obligations but also enrich our culture and workforce. Together, we can build a more inclusive UK that values and protects all its residents, regardless of their origin. #UKRiots #StandWithRefugees #InclusiveWorkplaces

While #Colombia is often lauded for its accepting policies towards the 2.4 million Venezuelans who have fled to the country, access to the rights provided by these policies remains challenging because of confusing processes, lack of information and bureaucratic requirements, among other obstacles. In addition, while 80% of Venezuelans intend to stay in Colombia long-term, rampant xenophobia causes widespread discrimination and even violence against Venezuelans. To combat these issues and improve the lives of community members, our 2022-23 partners—Fundación RadaBer and El Derecho a No Obedecer —and coalition member, Refugiados Unidos , provide a wide range of services and programs in Colombia, including legal assistance, employment and entrepreneurship support, healthcare, psychosocial services, emergency aid, and community cohesion and integration. Health literacy is crucial to help people in vulnerable situations, including migrants and refugees. Ensuring equitable #accesstohealthcare, including #mentalhealth empowers all individuals and public organizations. With that in mind, the Steering Committee for Human Rights in the fields of Biomedicine and Health prepared a guide (in the framework of the Council of Europe Action Plan on Protecting Vulnerable Persons in the context of Migration and Asylum in Europe (2021-2025)) which illustrates all the best practices and tools.
