For every cause, there is an intervention / solution! Emerge Worldwide uses the PESTLE factors to help fight the cause to stop, prevent, and end sexual exploitation of women and girl migrants & refugees. Most go through enough trauma and should not have to experience this atrocious crime of being sexually exploited just to live. Emerge Worldwide is campaigning to influence the changes of human care required in our policies, laws, and processes that our government and partners have responsibility for. For example, where we house genuine refugees and people seeking asylum should not put them at risk of being exploited all over again, as this makes us part of the exploitation problem, but safety must be at the heart of our interventions. Our policies are meant to help and support, not hinder a life to live! Living without exploitation is a human right for everyone! This must be reflected in our policies, laws, education, training, and practices. Today, Global Refugee Forum has started and so many pledges for and with refugees with be announced. But the question I am struggle with is: What transpires on the following Monday and thereafter? Today marks the start of the #GlobalRegugeeForum 2023. My dear colleague and friend, Brikena Zogaj, has outlined in this article some key reasons that we can be hopeful. "We are hopeful as this year at GRF is different for World Vision and for the families we serve. For the first time:     - There will be pledges on child protection under the multi-stakeholder pledge on child rights, including priority areas such as access to critical services (MHPSS, Social Protection, Health Case), empowerment and meaningful participation of refugee children, and protective and inclusive education. This pledge is informed by massive consultations that members of the Initiative have carried out.   - Refugee children are inputting in the pledge for their rights, and they will be face to face with decision-makers and allies for the fulfilment of their rights.   - GRF will speak to the protection of girls and boys in refugee contexts, based also on their calls." #GRF2023 #WithRefugees #displacement #Children #FA4COM #MHPSS #SocialProtection #Health
