Sharing with my #BusinessContinuity, #Resiliency, and #CrisisManagement network. The data findings below are quite interesting.... Here are some of my takeaways. Thoughts?
The surge in fully remote work between 2022 and 2023 was driven by the significant demand for resiliency professionals, alongside organizations opting to retain remote work as a popular choice to attract new talent. Organizations are now transitioning employees back to the office but are (fortunately) favoring flexibility, with employees expected to be in the office 2-3 days/ week.
I'm anticipating that the data point for 100% remote work will continue to decline while the data point for 40-80% in the office will rise.
How will this transition affect...
* Job seekers: If you're limited to remote work only, you'll need to be particularly innovative in showcasing your marketability and expanding your network. Remote-only positions are highly competitive due to the significantly larger candidate pool compared to on-site/hybrid roles.
* Hiring managers: If you're constrained to on-site or hybrid arrangements, you'll also need to employ creativity in your job postings and recruitment strategies, as well as consider candidates who may not meet all of your requirements.

Over the past few years, the job market has undergone significant changes, with recent articles highlighting a trend toward organizations shifting to hiring employees who work 100% on-site or mostly on-site (3 days/week). How is this trend reflected in the #resiliency profession? While there has been a decrease in fully remote roles, more employers are now emphasizing flexibility in their workforce, with expectations of being on-site 2-3 days per week. How does this impact your job search, and what commuting scenarios and questions should you consider?
