We like to follow the progress being made in eliminating 'forever chemicals' from our environment and, more specifically, from the raw materials we use to create tapes, labels and packaging for our clients. Here's a great article by MIT Technology Review that helps explain PFAS chemicals, what they are, how they get into our bloodstream and what is being done to fix the problem. Between manufacturing giant 3M's commitment to completely stop making these 'Forever Chemicals' in 2025 to the progress being made by Revive and their 'Annihilator' (a machine that destroys existing PFAS particles) we are making great strides toward a greener world for future generations. https://lnkd.in/eiMFy9y5.

Many of us think of #PFAS as “forever chemicals.” But scientists and engineers at H&A have made that nickname obsolete: They’ve developed EradiFluor, which destroys PFAS forever. Although other PFAS treatments exist, they often simply concentrate or transfer PFAS to another medium. EradiFluor destroys these chemicals by breaking down carbon-fluorine bonds. And, compared to other PFAS destruction technologies, it’s more energy efficient than the competition — operating at ambient temperature and pressures, thus saving money, and supporting sustainability goals. The newly launched #SAFF® Hyper-Concentrator is EPOC Enviro’s latest #PFAS remediation technology innovation. The SAFF® Hyper-Concentrator can be seamlessly coupled with up to four SAFF units to receive and further refine their PFAS laden waste streams, creating a minimal waste, maximum flow treatment train for effective management of larger volumes of PFAS-impacted waters. Significantly, the technology accepts and further reduces secondary PFAS concentrate received from the SAFF systems by an impressive 20-200 times. In simple terms the Hyper-Concentrator allows our clients to generate less than 1 gallon of PFAS waste for every 10,000 – 1,000,000 gallons of water processed – dependent on water type. Housed in a 40’ foot shipping container, the system comprises five individual hyper-concentration vessels, each operating in batch mode within their own ultra safe enclosed booth.
