KRAFTON Inc., the company behind PUBG, New State Mobile, and Tera, have announced plans to invest $150M into the Indian gaming market over the next 2-3 years. This comes in addition to the $140M the company has already invested in 11 Indian companies such as NODWIN Gaming and Nautilus Mobile App Pvt. Ltd in the past 3 years. The fund will be distributed across new startups as well as existing companies that focus on esports, gaming, multimedia entertainment, content creation and more. Nihansh B. of KRAFTON’s Corporate Development & Venture Investing team says their “investment momentum will continue as we seek to establish a dynamic and evolving portfolio across various segments in India”. This also comes after their recent quarterly earnings report that revealed $294M of net revenue and $97.6M of net profit in the past quarter. If divided up quarterly over 3 years, the fund will distribute $12.5M per quarter here, which would seemingly be manageable operating cost for the company, based on current financials. Krafton is one of the few international gaming giants who understand India and the potential it holds. So happy that they are leading the way for other MNCs coming to India.

Glad to be Krafton’s first investment in an Indian game development studio. Excited to see the growth this step brings to the Indian Mobile Gaming Industry.
